Under this turnkey contract funded by the Asian Development Bank, FPT IS will provide both applications and infrastructure for the client. The project is expected to be completed within 16 months.

FPT IS beat out many giants from different countries to win the contract.

The system will serve 1200 tax officers, 3 million taxpayers and around 650 local tax authorities in Bangladesh. By applying advanced IT applications, Bangladesh seeks to enhance its tax management capability, increase state budget revenues, and facilitate the process of paying taxes.

FPT IS will supply a SAP Tax and Revenue Management system, plus hardware infrastructure including network, server, storage and security system for the data center and local tax agencies, and offer operational support.

FPT IS CEO Mr. Pham Minh Tuan considered Bangladesh - with the seventh largest population in the world and a lower level of IT penetration than Vietnam - a potential market in South Asia. Currently, Bangladesh is boosting investment in the field of IT by deploying the Digital Bangladesh campaign.

In 2014, FPT IS has been selected to implement 13 overseas projects, worth up to 25 million USD in total, for clients such as the Ministry of Economy and Finance of Cambodia, SingTel Singapore, Huawei Myanmar and most recently, the National Board of Revenue of Bangladesh.
