FPT IS won million dollar contract in Laos

On May 9, FPT IS and LTC officially signed the contract worth more than 1 million US dollars to implement the Network Operation Center – NOC within five months.

To win the bid, FPT IS had defeated two leading telecom suppliers from China and one Thai vendor. This has strongly affirmed that applications and solution made in Vietnam are able to compete in international arena.

The Network Operation Center management system was developed by FPT IS, opening up opportunity to develop and implement general network operation and monitoring system for telecom providers in the regions.

This is a new application developed by FPT IS that would help LTC to centrally manage all the telecom network (wireless network, core network, and transceiver network), unifying the management of all devices of different suppliers from basic to higher level into a single platform to meet specific requirements of customers.

As each provider’s network has different parameters and data, this system helps to retrieve data of various formats and diversified sources under different protocols (depending on the target connection systems) into a single management platform with unified parameters, helping network operator with better overview on their network.

Besides, the system allows customer to extend management to 3G and 4G-empowered devices in their future upgrade.

Mr. Thongsay Xanexaya, General Director of LTC, said: “We decided to choose FPT to implement this project after a thorough evaluation on their capabilities and experiences in telecommunication services”.

Successful stories of FPT IS’ telecom solutions are also told by FPT.BCCS – the billing and customer care system developed by FPT IS, which has been used by four telcos in Cambodia, three in Laos and one in Myanmar. In the telecommunications industry only, software solution developed by FPT IS has brought more than ten million US dollar for the country.

FPT has developed business in Lao market since 1999, implementing various projects in the fields of telecommunications, banking and finance. The contract to implement the NOC for LTC would facilitate FPT’s further penetration into Lao ICT market, especially in projects for Lao government and state agencies.
