FPT Japan met Vietnam Robocon Team
On 22/08, in Tokyo, Japan, the Robocon SPK-Night Team, representative of Vietnam, ranked third in the ABU Asia - Pacific Robot Contest 2009, ABU Robocon 2009 for short.

Defeating the Fiji team and Japan No.2 with ease, the robot of the SPK- Knight team met with challenges when it had to confront its rival, the Indonesian Team. After a hard game, Robocon Vietnam won tightly with a tiny 2-second-gap.
Challenges really came when the team had to fight against the Chinese team, who is the current champion in two recent consecutive contests. The Chinese team, with quick and accurate automatic and manual robots, broke the record by 18 seconds and made the team from Vietnam stop at the semi-final.
This is the highest performance of the Chinese team. The team also defeated the Hong Kong team to be the champion for the third time.
Although the robot of Vietnam failed to continue to the final game, its performance was admired by other teams with differences with the teams of Hong Kong, Japan and the co-third-winner three, one and four seconds respectively.
Previously, FPT Software had sponsored 30 million VND to the Robocon Team- SPK Knight of Vietnam to participate this contest.
On 30th July 2009, Pham Minh Tuan – Director of FPT Software - Ho Chi Minh City Branch gave this sponsorship to Ho Chi Minh City University of Technology Education. Among enterprise sponsors, FPT Software was the largest.
Having directly watched Robocon 2009 and met the Team, Mr. Nguyen Thanh Lam – Director of FPT Japan, invited the team to meet FPT Japan staff in its headquarters in Tokyo on 24th August 2009. All the staff of FPT Japan attended the event and gave presents to the team members.
