On July 7th, Vietnam Report in collaboration with VietNamNet - Ministry of Information and Communication announced Top 10 listed companies 2015 by media reputation. FPT was one of 10 companies to be honored.
According to the Organizers, the event was held in the framework of Vietnam CEO Summit to be held on July 13 in Pullman Saigon Centre, District 1, HCMC.
Research on top listed companies by media reputation was conducted on an analytical model to quantify communication content in order to assess their image and reputation based on Agenda-setting theory describing the ability of the news media to influence enterprises’ position and image. This model was officially published by two professors Maxwell McCombs and Donald L. Shaw in 1968.
Database includes 2.707 coding units of 100 listed companies in Vietnam from July 2014 to June 2015.
Vietnam Report selected and coded articles about 100 companies with good capitalization rate and liquidity on Vietnam stock market which were published in such categories as investment, finance, securities etc of Vietnam Economic Times, the Saigon Economic Times, CafeF, Investment and Securities Investment from July 2014 to June 2015 on 12 specific criteria.
There were 2,707 records ranging from business result, market to leaders’ image and reputation in order to assess firms’ influence and positive information on media, as well as public trust in them. Besides, warnings about potential risks of image, weaknesses and strategies to achieve communication targets were been given.
Vietnam Report's research also indicated that the amount of information from businesses themselves on media tended to be increased. Vietnam, Hoa Phat Group and FPT were more proactive to disclosure their information (about 40% of the amount of information on media provided by the companies). "This shows that Vietnamese firms are aware of actively publishing information. It also helps them better manage their images, avoiding communication risks as well as partly consolidating their own position in the community, "said Vietnam Report.
With VND 32,644 billion in revenue, recently, FPT continued reaching Top 50 listed companies 2015 by Forbes Vietnam. 2015 was the third consecutive year Forbes Vietnam published Top 50 listed companies. This list covered most of leading companies in Vietnam's economy or each business sector.
