FPT opens FPT USA and FPT Australasia

These simultaneous events showed a vital step in FPT's globalization strategy to promote its software development and export activities, particularly in the US - the world's largest market for software development and export; and also an enter into the new potential markets in Asia-Pacific region including Australia, New Zealand.

The expansion into these two markets is resulted from the following factors:

- Investment by TPG and Intel Capital in FPT, and FPT's success with major contracts in the Asia - Pacific region has created a stable and potential source of clients for FPT's overseas branches. The Initial success in 2008 with a host of new clients will be an important momentum for the future development of FPT USA and FPT Australasia.

- The capabilities, experiences, and number of FPT's programmers; advanced technology application and quality management system; financial capabilities and knowledge of the local market.

- The growth and development of branches in Japan, Singapore, Malaysia, Europe are key to involving and supporting FPT USA and FPT Australasia in FPT's globalization strategy.

Total revenue forecasts for these two markets in 2009 are about 13 million USD. FPT USA expects to open its representative office in New York (New York) in November 2008, and two other representative offices in 2009, one in Seattle (Washington) and another in Austin (Texas). FPT Australasia will also open more offices in Melbourne and Brisbane in 2009.

On the establishment of FPT USA, Mr. Vivek Paul, former CEO of Wipro, currently senior advisor to FPT, said: “The establishment of FPT USA is a must to gain more clients in the US". He added “FPT’s presence in the US will not only enable convenient contact between FPT and clients but also improve the knowledge of FPT's leaders and staff about the local demands and culture. I'm happy that FPT has made a strategic decision with the US market".

Mr. Robert Gartland (CIO of Morgan Stanley for 20 years, currently a Partner of Vietnam Partners, a partner of FPT USA) said: “Many US’ financial institutions and major insurance companies that have traditionally imported software solutions from Indian exporters are now looking to diversify their outsourcing activities due to the current rising costs, umemployment rate, and work quality. Mr. Hoang Viet Anh, Director of FPT Software Asia - Pacific said about FPT Australasia: “Australia is a demanding market, with tough requirements but extremely potential in the Asia - Pacific region. The establishment of FPT Australasia, following the establishment of branches in Singapore, Malaysia will improve FPT's accessibility to markets in the region.
