In 2012, the company’ software outsourcing gained impressive achievement.
2012 was really a challenging year for the domestic economy. The Gross Domestic Product increased only 5.03%, lowest for the past thirteen years. Drastic dropping of market demand and blur macro-economic condition have negatively effected the majority of economic sectors including information technology and telecommunications.

With reasonable business direction and effort, FPT has finished the FY2012 with 25,350 billion dongs of revenue, which is equal to 1.2 billion USD. Profit before and after tax of the company was 2,405 and 1,985 billion dongs.

Profit after tax of parent company reached 1,539 billion dongs, earning 5,660 dongs per share. In 2012, the company paid 3,717 billion dongs to the state budget.

FPT’s core businesses such as telecommuniction, content, software, IT service and training has successfully maintained their growth rate. In 2012, the revenue from these lines increased by 25% and profit before tax by 28%. Particularly, the software outsourcing has grown 34% thank to the strategy to expand business in foreign market in the difficult context of the domestic market.

The company’s system integration and distribution have well sustained their leading position despite market challenges.

At the end of 2012, there were approximately 15,000 employees, an increase of 24% compared to 2011. The increased employees were mainly in the software outsourcing to meet the growing requirement of this industry in 2012 and to catch up with opportunities in 2013.
