FPT Retail and AAA to co-offer mobile insurance

On December 27, 2012, FPT Retail and AAA Insurance officially signed the agreement to sell mobile insurance within FPT Shop system.

The signing ceremony was organized at the AAA’s headquarter in 2 Tran Cao Van, district 1, Ho Chi Minh City with the attendance of CEO Pham Thanh Duc of FPT Retail, CEO Do Thi Kim Lien and Vice President Nguyen Thi Trong Phu of AAA Insurance. Accordingly, commencing from 2013, the mobile insurance provided by AAA would be offered in more than fifty showrooms of FPT Shop across the nation.

CEO Do Thi Kim Lien shook hand with CEO Pham Thanh Duc after the contract signing. The cooperation between two sides starts in early 2013.

This is the first time a mobile insurance has been introduced to Vietnam, which enables policy holders to claim for a new mobile phone of the same brand in the same year of use or an equivalent amount of money in case their mobile phones are stolen or damaged by accident or by water or abused by a third party.

According to the AAA’s CEO, mobile phone has become an essential companion of Vietnamese people. It is not only a communication tool but also a jewelry and valuable possession of many people.

As per insurance policy, those who wish to buy mobile insurance should purchase a brand new mobile phone within the FPT Shop system. “We want to emphasize that the prerequisite factor should be “authentic” as it helps the consumer, the insurer and even the phone manufacturer determine the value, the quality and the time of use of the insured product”, said AAA’s representative.

Ms. Nguyen Thi Trong Phu, Vice President of AAA , said that the company was impressed by steady development of FPT Retail in 2012. “We were impressed by your development speed and believe in your professional sales force. Hopefully they will soon become good deliverers of the mobile insurance service after being trained by AAA”, she added.

Explaining the reason for choosing AAA’s mobile insurance, Pham Thanh Duc said this is the trend that FPT Retail is focusing to add more value to both customers and the company.
