This will help improve accuracy, decrease data input and analysis time by half compared to older data input method by keyboard. This technology also ensure ease of access and security for the input database.

The 2009 General Census will utilize direct data recognition technology on e-forms. This is a new test-drive technology, utilized in-sync with other traditional methods and channels: web, Mobile (notebook) and e-mail.

Australia , China, Italy, and Kenya are notable success models in census data gathering and analysis.

The 2009 General Census aims to gather data for the research, and analysis of Vietnam’s current housing and population conditions. The campaign will also provide data to help evaluate socioeconomic plans during the 2000-2009 period, and to make future plans for the 2010-2020 period, as well as monitor and assess the criteria for Vietnam Millennium Development.

The 2009 General Census will be the largest general census ever initiated in Vietnam with new survey areas: number of disabled people, labor market, and housing conditions and quality.
