The kick -off of Nina project

Nina project, with the total value of approximately two million USD, is the largest project in Vietnam to be implemented in Japanese market.

The project customer is Nissen- the number one company in Japan operating in the field of Catalogue- based trading. . The project is expected to last until June 2010, in which Nihon Unisys and FPT Software play the role of the general contractor and prime contractor respectively. As the primary contractor, FPT Software, with the participation of several companies, is responsible for the processes from physical design to system pilot.

Catalogue-based trading: is the popular retailing of goods in Japan and around the world.

In this type of trading, the distributor delivers goods catalogues and the buyer may order via website of telephone, by which goods shall be carried to the address required.

FPT Software has been accessing this opportunity for years, defeating a number of notable competitors from Japan and Vietnam to be the primary contractor of the Project.

“Despite the scope of the project, the partner has trusted and directly signed the contract with FPT Software. This proves that the capability and competitiveness of Vietnamese software companies have reached a new level, balancing with the Japanese ones” said Bui Hong Lien, General Director of FPT Software.

Mr. Dao Duy Cuong, Director of G13, FPT Software, shared “we have been cooperated with Nissen for six years, so I strongly believe that the capability and cooperativeness of FPT Software will make the project successful”.

The purpose of Nina project is to reconstruct the core system of Nissen regarding retail and e-commerce. This is also the common trend of retailers worldwide.

Recently, there have been over 2.500 retailers in Japan. Therefore, if the project is completed successfully, FPT Software in particular and Vietnamese software companies in general shall be able to get involved in core tasks of customer and expand its presence in Japanese market, which is the largest market of the company as well as of the national software engineering industry.
