FPT Telecom and EVN Telecom signed the biggest agreement on telecommunication lease line

The agreement helps increase international internet transmission line of FPT Telecom up 5GB, doubling than the current capacity. “This also means thousands of customers will enjoy better quality ADSL Internet service in the nine coming months. The international lease line agreement is the first ever deal in Vietnam in term of telecommunication field” said by Mr. Truong Dinh Anh - General Director of FPT Telecom.

Mr. Nguyen Manh Bang - Director of EVN Telecom said: “On the base of current consolidated network and infrastructure, the deal is a strategic cooperation of the two telecom enterprises with aims to bring more benefits to customers in Vietnam. Also, it is an initial step for further cooperation of the two companies in the time to come.”

Together with the doubled internet transmission line, FPT Telecom plans to launch fix telephony service in two months to come, becoming 5^th fix telephony carrier in Vietnam (VNPT, Viettel, EVN Telecom, Saigon Postel).

Mr. Truong Dinh Anh went on: “FPT Telecom purchased a new switch of Cisco System to provide the NGN based services including value-added services: wideband internet, fix telephony, online television which are expected to deliver to more than 200,000 ADSL customers of the company. For the time being, FPT Telecom is second to none to deliver such kind of package service, which is more efficient and effective.”

Early October 2007, FPT Telecom will provide the internet protocol television service including digitalized television with 44 channels; on-demand films, programs, music; online news, albums and five online broadcasting news.

Today, FPT Telecom gets 15,000 to 20,000 new customers every month and is expected to be 300,000 as late of 2007.

The agreement signing between FPT Telecom and EVN Telecom is realized through a strategic agreement signed by the two leaders of FPT Corporation and EVN recently with aims towards a comprehensive cooperation in I/T, network and telecom services, finance, communications and training which will be carried out by their subsidies.

For the telecom service and network agreement, FPT Telecom and EVN Telecom commit to long term ulitilisation of technical infrastructure, respectively for mutual benefits that also helps EVN Telecom easier to negotiate with international partners and towards the biggest international channels provider meanwhile, FPT Telecom wishes to become the top ADSL provider.

Furthermore, FPT Telecom can afford to use current poles of EVN within the territory to hang up their fiber and telecom cables in line with standards of EVN as well as other regulations of authorities. EVN’s subsidies will be in charge of collecting telecom services bills provided by FPT Telecom in every corner of cities and provinces. EVN also facilitates FPT Corporations’ subsidies in their fact- findings, construction and engineering, operation of telecom systems.

Mr. Truong Dinh Anh – General Director of FPT Telecom affirmed: “In the development, enterprises tend to join hands for strategic allies in order to harness respective strengths. So far, FPT Telecom has seen EVN as an important partnership; therefore the strategic agreement is a proof of ties consolidation to develop telecom services in the time ahead.”
