FPT Telecom permitted to set up network, local and international fixed telephony service provision
Hanoi, October 10th 2007. Vietnam Ministry of Information and Communications signed the Permit number 255/GP-BTTTT for FPT Telecom to establish two public telecom networks namely local toll fixed telephony service and international fixed telecom telephony service.

Pursuant to the permit, FPT Telecom is allowed to expand telecom network provisions including direct provision and/or retail sales of telecom services under regulations of the Ministry in the nationwide.
Within 12 and/or 19 months to come, FPT Telecom plans to set up a Hanoi and HoChiMinh Cities backbone; a backbone connecting Hanoi City and Vietnam – China border in Lang Son and Mong Cai provinces to connect with Hong Kong and Shanghai - China; a HoChiMinh city and Vung Tau town backbone to join the international sea cables ally in Vung Tau town. Then it also plans to provide services on the base of Hanoi - HoChiMinh cities backbone in Thanh Hoa, Vinh, Hue, DaNang, Nha Trang cites and provinces as well as others./
