FPT Telecom provides host computer using Dual Core in Vietnam
Hanoi, 6 March 2007. From March 2007 onwards, customers leasing FPT Telecom’s Dedicated Server will be provided with dual-core rather than single-core as previously. FPT Telecom is the first supplier of dedicated servers using this technology to maximize the speed of WEB and MAIL services. Customers can now register to lease Dual Core Xeon Server at a speed of 2.13Ghz each core, RAM 512Kbps, and 80GB SATA hard disk drive as a server storing emails and website at a cost of VND3 million per month. The server’s RAM can be upgraded to a maximum 80GB, and the hard disk capacity to 2 x 250GB. The program was launched on 1 March 2007

Dual-Core Technology allows the central processing unit (CPU) to contain two cores or more. The cores will simultaneously operate and share the work taken over by the CPU. Having two or more cores helps the CPU work more effectively with stronger capacity, since each core tackles less applications and the CPU does not have to take over so much work. Therefore, the speed of WEB and MAIL services used in the servers increases.
Head of FPT Telecom’s Service-Storing Department, Mrs. Vu Thi Huyen, said: “Leasing our dedicated server allows customers to use a separate server (with any configuration), connecting with high-speed Internet and gaining stability with one static IP. Customers can have distant management and software installation, applied according to demand, but not limited thanks to the flexible ability to upgrade the hard disk drive and the software.”
Along with the Dual-Core application, FPT Telecom has also doubled the capacity of the Medium hosting (from 50MB to 100MB), Advanced (from 200MB to 400MB), and Pro (from 500MB to 1.000MB).

FPT’s system of Internet Data Centers (IDC) run in Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City covers an area of thousands of square meters and is able to simultaneously operate 1,000 – 3,000 servers with various operating systems and different applications (Microsoft, Sun, Linux, Novell). The system reaches international criteria and is constantly maintained (24 hours a day, seven days a week)

FPT Telecom has Accredited Registration from VNccTLD, certified by the Vietnam Internet Center at the Ministry of Post and Telematics, and is regarded as the unique TLDs Reseller in Vietnam . FPT Telecom can act as a representative to register, settle payments, report technological problems and protect the domain name, as well as supporting customers during their time of use.
