FPT Telecom to complete its North to South backbone cable system in 2012
Recently, FPT Telecom Joint Stock Company has expanded coverage, increased bandwidth and developed value-added services to achieve objectives for the 2010-2012 period.

The company’s four strategies including increase of connection speed, construction of backbone cable system, coverage expansion, and development of digital content and services have been implemented strongly and gained remarkable achievements.
Particularly, the company has made a breakthrough in terms of bandwidth and service quality, in which the international bandwidth was doubled after connections with China Telecom, the trans-Asia Marine Cable System, the Asia America Gateway (AAG) and, most lately, with China Unicom .
In early 2011, FPT Telecom offered an increase of 40% of bandwidth for all of its ADSL subscribers.
At the same time, the company is constructing the North-South backbone cable system and expects to start exploiting its capacity in the second quarter next year. Nearly 1 million- kilometer- long- interprovincial cable system were also built to facilitate internet services provided by its 36 branches across the nation.
During the past years, the company has expanded its coverage and has established strong presence in 36 provinces and cities by the end of 2011. It also pays attention to bringing service coverage to suburban areas and building infrastructure and services in residential zone, and apartment and office building.
In 2012, the company shall cover other ten to fifteen new provinces and cities throughout the country.
Beside domestic market, FPT Telecom is seeking for opportunities in Cambodia through boosting bilateral cooperation with local telecom providers.
The North-South Backbone Cable System is scheduled to complete in the second quarter of 2012.
