FPT Telecom to put telecom - cable system in HCMC underground

On August 13, FPT Telecom and other four telecom units including Viettel, VNPT, SCTV and Ho Chi Minh City Electric Power Trading Investment Corporation signed an agreement with Ho Chi Minh City Power Corporation to co-implement 38 underground telecom - cable and power grid projects in 2013.

FPT Telecom accompanied by other four telecom units will put the telecom-cable system of HCM City underground in the 3rd quarter.

The collaboration is aimed at minimizing the repeated digging of roads and pavements, reducing the impact on daily life of residents as well as urban traffic and then avoiding the wasteful investment.

According to Mr. Le Quoc Cuong, Deputy Director of the HCM City Department of Information and Communications, the coordination between the units will speed the work of removing overhead telecom-cables, uniform construction standards and then avoid investment inconsistency as well as the "spider web" removal from the air to the underground.

Under the plan, HCM City will deploy 38 the ducted telecom - cable and power grid projects in some periods. In 2013, it is expected to complete 20 ones implemented since 2012 with 40 kilometers of medium-voltage line and more than 65 kilometers of low-voltage line.
