FPT - the first Vietnam-based outsourcing vendor to present at the Gartner Summit

This year’s summit attracted about 700 participants who were CIOs, CFOs, COOs, Sourcing Manager, etc. from various global companies in the Fortune 1000 list such as Bank of America, Bayer, Boeing, FedEx, Nike, Prudential, T - Mobile, Toyota etc.

The event covered such hot topics as vendor evaluation and selection, contract negotiation and renegotiation, vendor and performance management, Cloud and industrialized services, and re-imagining sourcing strategies.

Gartner, Inc. is the leading information technology research and advisory firm founded in 1979. Gartner with 1,435 researchers, consultants and customers across 85 countries and territories in the world has held more than 60 worldwide large-scale events.

FPT Corporation was one of six Platinum Sponsors in the 16th Gartner Outsourcing & Strategic Partnerships Summit in Orlando, United States. Within the framework of the conference, FPT hosted a roundtable discussion with heads of global leading companies under the topic “Explore Vietnam for your Application Outsourcing Needs: Scale, Agility and Expertise” and set up a booth in the exhibition area.

The roundtable discussion, chaired by Mr.Truong Gia Binh, attracted the attention of 20 senior leaders from large corporations in the world. FPT introduced Vietnam as an emerging outsourcing alternative with cost, human resources, delivering quality and professional capacity advantages. Besides its own capabilities and experiences in IT services basing on Cloud Computing, Mobility and Big Data, FPT showed its experiences in deploying IT services in such specific fields as satellite TV, semiconductor, health service, oil & gas and financial service. Currently, Amazon Web Services has recognized FPT as Advanced Consulting Partner on the implementation of cloud-based services. Additionally, FPT is also experienced in deploying cloud-based services of Microsoft Azure, Cloud Stack and Open Stack. It has been deploying cloud and mobility services for some large corporations in the world in the fields of aviation, electronics etc.

"As a the largest outsourcing vendor in Vietnam and Southeast Asia, FPT’s participation in such a large event will help the industry leaders learn more about capacity and experience of providing IT services of Vietnamese software enterprises in general and FPT in particular, then empowering Vietnamese IT in the eyes of the international business community", Mr. Binh said.

In the exhibition area, FPT introduced its cloud computing robot named Smartoshin in a worldwide large-scale event for the first time. Smartoshin used the F-Voices application (developed by FPT Technology board) to chat with the visitors in English and performed F-Style dance. This event attracted more than 200 arrivals in the 4-hour display.

On the sideline of the summit, FPT Chairman Truong Gia Binh had bilateral meetings with more than 10 senior leaders of large corporations in the world.
