FPT to admit 1,200 new students in 2008

To be enrolled, students not only need to achieve above the minimum grade in the entrance exams in July 2008, but also pass two 120-minute multiple – choice math and logical thinking tests (in Vietnamese) and a 60- minute - essay (in Vietnamese).

Accepted students are scheduled to start the new school year in August 2008 at FPT University’s 3 centers.

The admission procedures this year are as follows:

• FPT will officially open A- Level Courses, designed specially for students who have not been qualified.
• Entrance-exam-exempted applicants are members of Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry, Biology, Computing National Team or finished first, second, or third place in National Competition.
• Entrance-exam-exempted students, scorers above 28 points in the Ministry of Education and Training’s entrance exams and those with nationally recognized achievements in arts, sports, and social activities will receive scholarships worth up to 550,000 USD.
• Excellent students with financial difficulties, aside from tuition exemption, will also receive meal and boarding support while in school. Underprivileged students with good results can apply for student credit programs.
• Students will start internship during the third year. Outstanding students may complete their academic years in enterprises rather than university.
