Since its equitization in 2002, the annual financial statements of FPT Corporation and its subsidiaries were audited by local audit firms. The appointment of KPMG, one of the “Big 4” auditing firms as FPT’s auditor is not only a preparatory step towards listing on an overseas stock market, but also meets the needs of strategic investors, and is in the best interest of FPT shareholders.
The relationship with KPMG will not only ensure that FPT is subject to an audit of the highest quality but will also result in improvements to FPT’s financial reporting and control processes. This will assist in ensuring that managements objectives, of building a world class company, are met.
FPT Vice Chairman, Mr. Le Quang Tien, stated that “The high transparency in the financial statements of FPT from 2007 as well as the international prestige of the audit firm will satisfy the investors.. The appointment of an internationally recognized audit firm is also part of the globalization strategy of FPT Corporation, because financial statements audited by a Big 4 firm, are more readily acceptable in overseas capital markets”.
KPMG will, from 2007, audit the financial statements of the whole FPT group including three branches, five subsidiaries, one university, five training and business functional centers, and further subsidiaries and branches which may be established in 2007. We are committed to ensuring we have the right resources with the necessary experience assigned to work on the audit of FPT and we have the commitment from other countries around the ASPAC region that they will support us in servicing FPT. This support not only includes sharing experiences in connection with the audit of Information and Communications companies and support in dealing with emerging industry trends and issues but also more general assistance in relation to working with high growth businesses and businesses that are considering expansion via participation in overseas capital markets such as Singapore, Hong Kong, London and the United States.”
