FPT train leaders for Myanmar Economic Corporation

FPT Myanmar’s Training Center recently held an International Executive Development Program (IEDP) successfully for managers of the Myanmar Economic Corporation (MEC) and its subsidiaries.

Joining the IEDP, the participants heard FPT’s experiences related to management skills, management process and technology apps to corporate management etc. After the course, many MEC's high-level leaders showed their desire to shift from traditional management to one using computerized systems with modern technologies in the future.

Teh leaders of  both sides expected that the success of this course would become a premise for future cooperation between the MEC and FPT. 
"I give thanks to FPT for showing us the importance of IT in each business of the Corp. I believe that ERP will soon become the new trend in Myanmar. This course has helped us open up our thoughts and minds," Deputy Director of MEC Planning Department Myint Than stated.

Assistant to CEO of Ahlone International Port Terminal under MEC Than Aung said that the course helped him solve not only problems in the enterprise but also many other aspects of life.

Director of the Training Center Do Anh Tu said that this course aimed to improve awareness of the importance of IT apps to administration, management and economic development, helping MEC to reach new heights.

The leaders of the two sides expected that the success of this course would become a premise for future cooperation between the MEC and FPT in various fields namely Banking, Telecommunications, ERP etc.

Since the third quarter of this year, FPT Myanmar’s Training Center has offered short-term and long- term courses of Information Technology and Corporate Management. The center aims to train high quality human resources in the field of IT for Myanmar as well as spread FPT brand in this country.

MEC is the largest economic corporation in Myanmar with nearly 40 member companies and more than 10,000 employees. Established in 1997, MEC manufacturing heavy industrial products at first. Nowadays, with the development and integration of Myanmar’s economy, MEC expanded its businesses to many other areas such as banking, telecommunications, insurance, manufacture of beverages, ... MEC now pays about USSD 6 billion in tax, equivalent to 10% of GDP.
