FPT University expands its presence in localities

These offices will act on behalf ofthe university to communicate with state agencies, organizations, high schools, parents and students and launch cooperation activities to facilitate their effective access to the university’s training curriculum and get the most appropriate consultation.

The opening ceremony took place at Sai Gon - Quy Nhon hotel and was attended by representatives of the Binh Dinh People’s Committee, Department of Education and Training, colleges, high schools, parents and students.

Founded in September 2006, FPT University has admitted nearly 5,000 academic students and more than 6,000 non-academic students in associated training systems such as: Aptech, Arena, FPT Polytechnics and among others. The university has become the largest IT training unit and was granted the 2011 Venus Star Award for The Best Place for Academic and Non-academic IT Training by the Ministry of Information and Communication.

Through these establishments, FPT University seeks opportunities to provide career consultation and help students decide their most suitable future profession. The university also facilitates parents and students by directly organizing registration and entrance exam. In 2012, students will be able to do preliminary tests at these offices instead of rushing to Hanoi, Da Nang or Ho Chi Minh City. Parents can also have betterlook at their children’s performance. Moreover, it is important for these offices to set foundation for implementation of training and cooperation programs in localities.

Explaining the university’s vision, Mr. Nguyen Xuan Phong, Vice Director said: “Through these local offices, we determine to invest in a training system of high quality and large coverage tomeet the demand for high quality human resources in the country’s progress to knowledge economy. This also reflects our concern about how to facilitate parents and students in localities to access our available services”.

Mr. Phong also disclosed that in August and September of 2011, the university would open more offices in Hai Phong, Quang Ninh, Thanh Hoa, Thai Nguyen, Dong Nai, Nha Trang and Can Tho. Quy Nhon was chosen first as it has the most demand for information and supports for the entrance exam to FPT University taking place on this August 14, 2011.
