During the reception, Vice Chairman Nguyen Thanh Nam, on behalf of the university, asked for his approval to open FPT University in Laos. The Deputy PM confirmed to grant 30 hectares for the university to build its facility and get ready for the first admission in 2013.

In the morning of the day, he visited the university’s campus and was impressed by the facility there. He asked the students about their study condition while attending an English class with them.

He also expressed his interest in observing the student’s sport games such as soccer, ice-skating and Vovinam martial art.

FPT University was the pioneer organization to officially operate in Hoa Lac hi-tech park in May, 2012. With the total area of more than 30 hectares, at present, the university has completed the facility on an area of 9.1 hectares to meet the students’ requirements for study, physical training, and entertainment.

This facility coming into operation has contributed a remarkable part to help FPT University receive 3-star-certificate by the QS, one of the three most prestigious college rating organizations in the world. FPT University is also the first college in Vietnam to be internationally rated under QS Stars standard.

Once completed, the university campus shall become a mini-residence for students with sufficient services and utilities to meet daily needs of 25,000 students and thousands of lecturers.
