FPT University holds exam for nearly ten thousand

This is proof that the information technology sector and FPT University have attracted the attention of many students. The exams were orderly and passed without any problems at 7 test sites nationwide. Students did not violate any testing regulation.

The Mathematics and Logical thinking multiple-choice test was 120 minutes long, contained 90 questions, and has 3 sections: Section 1 tested calculation skills, Section 2 and Section 3 tested logical thinking capabilities.

Many students revealed that they like this kind of testing. “The exam questions were very good, not too difficult, but long. With 90 questions in 120 minutes, students can only spend more than one minute on average for each question, and this required us to think fast and use our time wisely”, a student said after the exam.

“To succeed with our own capabilities, we must be ready to put aside others’ opinions. Only when we do not pay attention to what others think of ourselves can we achieve the most important things in life”.

Considered to be the first information technology university in Vietnam to “include Writing in its entrance examination”, FPT University ’s essay topic have also received the attention of many students. The essay topic allows students to express their personal knowledge and views about the topic.

Concerning incorporating essay writing in to its entrance exam, Mr. Nguyễn Xuân Phong –Director of the Admission Board, Deputy Director of FPT University explains: “Aside from evaluating students’ aptitude for information technology through the Mathematics and Logical thinking sections, the Essay writing section helps us to better evaluate students’ language skills, how well and logical they can express their views about a topic. Moreover, to succeed at university level and also in later life, students must get used to having their own independent, creative thoughts and opinions about things in life. This section also allows us to better evaluate students’ strong points, facilitating our scholarship and financial loan granting process”.

The University expects to announce results on May 6^th, 2008 . High-scorers will be selected for scholarship interviews and also eligible for our financial loan program.

Accepted students may choose to study in one of three of FPT University ’s training facility in Hanoi , Danang and Hochiminh City .
