FPT University signed deal with Carnegie Mellon University
December 3rd 2007, FPT University had a working session with representatives from American Carnegie Mellon University. The two parties exchanged views on training, vision, development targets and discussed cooperation possibilities of the two universities in the coming time.

Professor John T. Grasso from Software Research and Development Institute, Computer Science - Carnegie Mellon University and Professor John Kang – Director of Asia Cooperation Center participated in the discussions and signing activities.
Carnegie Mellon University is one of top American universities in term of information technology training that built and developed the famous CMM [1] procedure applied now in the software industry. The two sides spent time for CMM discussions on the procedure which is currently referred by FPT University to build its curriculum to meet demands of the software industry.
Carnegie Mellon University commits to supporting FPT University in building program in line with ABET standard – one of the standards on highest level education quality procedure in technology and technical training of America.
After discussions and exchanges, the two sides signed a Memorandum of Understanding between FPT University and Carnegie Mellon University, herewith the two sides will promote information exchanges in programs, courses, share materials, training programs, workshops, and symposium.
“We are impressed by Vietnam who has a young population and we see that there are a lot of potentials. Our visit is a big investment. Hopefully, Carnegie Mellon University and FPT University will further cooperation relations in the future”. Said by John Kang.
