FPT University students join GIO

From October 16 to 18, 2008, the GIO (Global Innovation Outlook) was held by IBM in Singapore with the participation of representatives from various ASEAN governments and enterprises. Nguyễn Hoàng Bảo Như and Dương Hoàng Bảo Trân from FPT University have been selected by IBM as representatives of the Asia-Pacific region to take part in the conference.

Nguyễn Hoàng Bảo Như and Dương Hoàng Bảo Trân are outstanding students, with many creative ideas and also are winners of the university’s eloquent English competition. The topic of the eloquent competition was “Water source and sea water management” which’s also the topic of GIO 2008. The two FPT students’ presentation at the GIO’s forum will be about the protection of water and ocean resources from the young generation’s view point.

This year, the GIO’s discussions on the topic of how to protect water and ocean resources will be held in 6 cities over the world such as: San Diego (September 18), Atlanta (September 23), Singapore (October 16), Dubai (October 21), Amsterdam (November 6) and Rio de Janeiro (November 11).

GIO is an annual summit forum held by IBM which attracts the participation of many state leaders and chief executives from different regions of the world, in order to discuss and look for creative ideas on how to improve the world and environmental issues (living environment, working environment, business environment, etc.). This year is the fourth GIO and this is also the first time an ASEAN country (Singapore) has hosted the forum for countries in the region.
