FPT University successfully held the short-list exam on April 26
On April 26, 2009, FPT University successfully organized the short-list exam for over 7000 candidates nationwide with the exam subjects: mathematics multiple choice test, logical thought and essay writing. This year, in order to create better conditions for the faraway candidates, FPT University has enlarged the exam area with 8 exam locations nationwide in 5 big cities, which are Hanoi, Da Nang, Ho Chi Minh City, Vinh and Can Tho.

Due to careful preparation for many months, the exam took place smoothly and left good impression for candidates and their parents.
With the exam subjects - mathematics multiple choice test, logical thought and essay writing, candidates were allowed to complete them all in 120 minutes with 90 questions divided in 3 sections: Section 1 consisted of questions testing calculating skills; Section 2 and 3 included questions testing logical thought. The duration for essay writing was 60 minutes, and candidates could use their thought and knowledge to present their personal opinions about the issues raised in the exam questions.
In 2009, facing the economic crisis in Vietnam and all over the world, many candidates and their parents have been more careful in choosing universities/colleges and occupations. However, as a key economic industry of Vietnam which has been supporting the development of many other social – economic fields, the IT industry has still been very attractive.
Especially in this year, besides the scholarship and credit loan programmes, FPT University has also deployed the programme “Invest with you”, which can support up to 90% of the tuition fees, which can be paid in instalments after graduation with the maximum rate of 4.5% of annual income. This has attracted special attentions of the society and has brought about more opportunities for capable but poor students.
As planned, FPT University will announce the results from May 13, 2008. Candidates with high scores will be allowed to take part in the interviews for chances to get scholarships, to participate in the credit loan programme and the “Invest with you” programme.
In order to become an official student of FPT University, successful candidates’ scores in the next university entrance exam organized by the Ministry of Education and Training must be higher than the floor score. If they miss this condition, they can participate in pre-university classes of FPT University.
After satisfying the conditions to become official students, candidates can start registering and completing their school-entering documents until the end of August 31, 2009. FPT University will hold the ceremony marking the beginning of an academic year for the new course in September 2009.
