FPT welcomes new General Director
In the FPT Management Board meeting on December 18, 2008 Mr. Nguyễn Thành Nam has been voted by the board as to be the new General Director of FPT Corporation, effective from April 15, 2009.

Mr. Nguyen Thanh Nam is currently the Chairman of the Management Board of FPT Software, a subsidiary of FPT having the annual growth of up to 70%.
Leaving the position of FPT General Director, Mr. Trương Gia Binh will continue to be the Chairman of the Management Board of FPT Corporation. He will focus on developing the company’s strategies as well as training senior executives.
Mr. Nguyen Thanh Nam is among the founders of FPT, and has taken many important positions in FPT. From only 17 employees at FPT Software in 1999, he has led the company to its current staff of 2,700 employees.
This decision of the Board reaffirms FPT’s commitment towards globalization, and development of software and related services, while also realizing the company’s goals for sustainable development.
With his many years of experience in software outsourcing for the company’s globalization mission, FPT hopes Mr. Nguyen Thanh Nam will continue to lead FPT Corporation to new heights in the coming times.
Brief biography of Mr. Nguyen Thanh Nam:
Mr. Nguyen Thanh Nam successfully concluded his doctorate thesis at the National University of Lomonosov in Moscow, Russia (formerly the Soviet Union, now Russian Federation) in 1988. Back to Vietnam then, he joined other founders to establish FPT in the same year.
He started his career in FPT being the first programmer, data analyzer, and system developer. He then diverted his attention to softwares for commercial banking and business management. He and his team has left their mark in many major IT projects in Vietnam during the 1990s.
From 1995 to 1999, he was appointed the Director of the FPT Software Solution Center. In 1997, with agreement of Mr. Truong Gia Binh and other company’s leaders of FPT Software Center, Mr. Nam decided to enter the global software market. By establishing FPT Software in the end of 1999, Mr. Nguyễn Thành Nam was appointed General Director of FPT Software.
With the great enthusiasm for development of the software industry, Mr. Nam has a broad vision with the target of making FPT Software the leading solution provider in the region, and naming Vietnam’s software industry in the global software map.
