From 2010, FPT University’s students will study at Hoa Lac High-Tech Park

On May 20, 2009, the Management Board of Hoa Lac High-Tech Park decided to grant FPT University project investment certificate at the 4th ASPA Leaders Meeting.

The ground-breaking ceremony for FPT University project will be carried out in July 2009, and by the end of 2010, basic constructions will be completed to come into operation.

With the total area of 30 ha and total investment capital of 2,696 billion VND, FPT University project at Hoa Lac High-Tech Park will be divided into two periods. 

FPT University Plan in Period 1

FPT University Overall Plan

Period 1 will be deployed from 2009 to 2011, with over 94,000m2 of built floors and total investment of 814 billion VNDs, serving 3000 students.

Period 2 will be from 2012 to 2015 with over 213,000 m2 of built floors and total investment of 1,882 billion VNDs, enough to answer the needs of 7000 students.

According to the scheduled rate of progress, at the end of 2010, some basic constructions, including the lecture hall zone, the dormitory zone and the service constructions, will be finished and come into operation.

In order to build a university with the best infrastructure in Vietnam and meeting international standards, FPT’s Board of Management has entrusted FPT Land with the role of an investor to deploy the project. The consultation unit in terms of planning and designing constructions is Nihon Sekkei, Inc from Japan.

In accordance with the overall design, FPT University will have 7 big construction zones, including: Lecture halls and the researching zone; Students’ dormitory; Accommodations for specialists and lecturers; The Administrative and Headquarter zone; The sports zone; Laboratories and other constructions; Park.

At the meeting of the Council for assessing detailed plans of functional zones of Hoa Lac High-Tech Park on April 17, 2009, Mr. Nguyen Van Lang, Ph.D. – Deputy Minister of Science and Technology, affirmed that the Management Board of Hoa Lac High-Tech Park would create favourable conditions to speed up the deployment of the projects to make sure that they would be finished early.

Also at this meeting, Mr. Banh Tien Long – Deputy Minister of Education and Training, also made a speech about the indispensable trend of developing high-quality universities in the region as well as in Vietnam.

With the efforts of related parties, FPT Univeristy project and University of Science and Technology project in the over-100-ha Education and Traininng Zone in Hoa Lac High-Tech Park will be started, which will mark a turning point of Vietnamese education in the process of upgrading and integrating into the international community.

This is the first time in Vietnam as well as in the region that there has been a complex of international-quality universities which have been planned in a comprehensive, modern, environmentally friendly way and have close relationships with other universities in Vietnam’s educational system.

As scheduled, when the project of the Education and Training Zone has been completed, Hoa Lac High-Tech Park will be able to serve 25,000 – 30,000 students and thousands of lecturers, creating favourable conditions to connect training and researching with the reality, contributing to the development of high-quality human resources for hi-tech industries, becoming a driving force for economic development, especially in main economic zones.

Previously, in 2007, the Management Board of Hoa Lac High-Tech Park signed an investment agreement with FPT Corporation to build FPT Software Park. In the future, Hoa Lac High-Tech Park will be directed to become a scientific city with service industries, research institutes, universities/colleges, urban centres and amusement zones.
