FTS shall implement cctv-based vehicle traffic counting solution to facilitate traffic separation and control in Ho Chi Minh City.
An official from the City’s Department of Transportation said that this solution aimed to improve the state’s administration towards transportation infrastructure and ensure the traffic order and safety of the inner area of Ho Chi Minh City.
The Transportation Department also requested the No.1 Traffic Control Division and the Public Light Company to support FTS during its piloting in the above-mentioned area.
So far, the counting of vehicles to facilitate traffic separation and control has been carried out manually, which is time-consuming and inaccurate, causing difficulties in ensuring transportation order and safety.
FTS is also piloting the optical flashboard to prevent traffic jam for the people in Ho Chi Minh City from December 23, 2012 until the end of April 2013
