FU’s newly-appointed Rector to interact with Dan Tri readers

At 14h on October 9, Dr. Quang Minh Dam, FU’s Rector, will take part in an exchange to give advices on educational philosophy, learning and career orientation to young people in the new era on Dan Tri news.

The program will also be joined by Dr. Nguyen Hong Phuong – Head of FPT University Training Department.

At the exchange, FU’s Rector will answer questions of parents and students about the last enrollment period this year (on October 19). In addition, the guests will also share viewpoints on teaching and learning at FPT University, how to introduce students to domestic and foreign enterprises and training methods to help new graduates satisfy employers.

Dam Quang Minh is a well-known young doctor with 13 years of experience in the field of higher education and international cooperation. He also played an important part in the internationalization journey of FU as making contributions to founding international centers such as FPT – Greenwich and FIA with thousands of students including hundreds of foreign students.

On September 26, Dr. Dam Quang Mịnh, 35, was recognized as Rector of FPT University by the People's Committee of Hanoi at the request of FPT's BOD and FPT University. Mr. Minh is now the youngest rector in Vietnam.

Among his many distinguished accomplishments, he ever worked as Director of FPT Polytechnic College, Deputy Director of FPT International Training Institute, and Senior Assistants to FPT Chairman. In addition, he is also known as a social debater in the field of education with a series of good articles.

Founded in 2007, FPT University now has more than 2,000 graduates working in Vietnam as well as many countries around the world such as Singapore, Japan and USA. Many people became heads of IT firms.

Over the past years, FU students have continuously won high awards at the largest IT contests such as ACM International Collegiate Programming Contest (ICPC) by IBM with the highest group prize in 2011, 2012 and 2013. Specifically in 2014, FU’s ACM/ICPC team became Vietnam’s representative to attend the World Final in Russia and achieved the same rank with some leading universities in the world such as Stanford University, University of Cambridge.

After 7 years of establishment, FPT University is well known as an educational environment which follows a philosophy underlining modernity and innovation as well as focuses on students’ work capacity after graduation. FU is aiming to develop a global university with international training program. FU’s key goal is to help Vietnamese education compete in the region and around the world.

In the last enrollment period of 2014, FPT University will admit 200 candidates for majors of Information Security; Electronics - Communications; Software engineering; Computer Science; Business Administration; Finance - Bank; Graphic design and Japanese language.
