ICIIT 2025, held from February 20 to February 23, featured seven discussion sessions covering a wide range of intelligent IT applications, including Models and computations in machine learning; Next-generation AI and its applications in engineering; Digital image analysis and processing techniques; Image recognition and detection technology.

A key highlight of the conference was the participation of three world-renowned keynote speakers and distinguished technology professors with a profound influence on IT and AI from the University of Technology Sydney (Australia), Nirma University (India), and KAUST University (Saudi Arabia). Additionally, the event welcomed four guest speakers from the University of National and World Economics (Bulgaria), Malaysian Defense University (Malaysia), Xiamen University (China), and the University of the District of Columbia (USA).

During the plenary session, keynote speakers took turns presenting and discussing pressing technology topics, drawing significant interest from scholars and researchers.

One of the standout presentations was delivered by Prof. Bogdan Gabrys from the University of Technology Sydney (Australia). He highlighted the growing urgency of automated AI systems in response to the exponential rise in digital content and information. Despite automation, he emphasized that human involvement remains crucial in enhancing human-machine interactions and guiding the future direction of AI-driven automation.

Prof. Gabrys underscored the increasing significance of big data, referencing Clive Humby's famous assertion that "data is the new oil." Organizations require predictive analytics and machine learning models. However, he pointed out two significant challenges currently facing the data science industry: The demand for skilled professionals & scalable and adaptable technology, as well as a need for data analysis tools and AI models that are replicable, automated, adaptive, predictive, and intuitive.

"That’s why various AutoML and AutonoML models are being developed today — to assist humans in handling complex data-driven tasks more efficiently," he concluded.

By analyzing the differences between machine learning models (Automated, Autonomous, and Self-Cognition), Prof. Bogdan (University of Technology Sydney, Australia) highlighted the varying levels of human interaction, participation, and roles in each system, categorizing them into four key groups: technical, business, legislative, and end users.

Additionally, Prof. Sudeep Tanwar (Nirma University, India) outlined five key trends in blockchain applications for this year, including decentralized finance (DeFi), NFTs beyond art, interoperability and cross-chain solutions, Central Bank Digital Currencies (CBDCs), sustainability initiatives, and the integration of AI with blockchain. He also emphasized the synergy between blockchain and AI in enhancing information security, optimizing spectrum management, and automating network operations.

Meanwhile, Prof. Mohamed-Slim Alouini (KAUST University, Saudi Arabia) highlighted the critical role of wireless communications in advancing the United Nations' 2030 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). He proposed a 6G and high-altitude base station (HAPS) solution to help connect the three billion people worldwide who remain without internet access.
ICIIT 2025 is jointly organized by Greenwich Vietnam, FPT Corporation, and the Hong Kong Chemical, Biological, and Environmental Engineering Society (HKCBEES). The event is supported by Hung Vuong University (Ho Chi Minh City), Foshan University (China), the Guangdong High-Performance Computing Association, and the College of Electrical and Electronic Engineering & Computer Science (EECS) at the National Taipei University of Technology.

Founded in 2009, Greenwich Vietnam was established through a cross-national university training cooperation program between Greenwich University (UK) and FPT University (Vietnam). Over the past 15 years, it has grown into a leading institution offering high-quality international university programs, with campuses in Hanoi, Da Nang, Ho Chi Minh City, and Can Tho. Greenwich University has been ranked the No.1 university in London, UK, for student satisfaction (StudentCrowd 2023) and is listed among the top 86 most influential universities worldwide (THE Impact Rankings 2023). It is also the first and only university in the UK to serve as a scholarship partner for Vietnam's "Road to Olympia" program.

2025 marks the 10th anniversary of ICIIT. This year also marks the 5th consecutive year of collaboration between FPT Education and HKCBEES in celebration of FPT Education's 25th anniversary and the 15th anniversary of the University of Greenwich (UK) bachelor's program in Vietnam, now known as Greenwich Vietnam.
