Japanese Ambassador visits FPT University, and deal signed on Japanese textbooks

On June 13 the Japanese Ambassador to Vietnam, H.E. Mr. Norio Hattori, accompanied by a delegation from the Embassy, paid a visit to FPT University. On the same day the University and Japan’s Association for Overseas Technical Scholarships (AOTC) announced an agreement on using licensed textbooks for the study of the Japanese language.

Under the agreement, FPT University is authorized to publish 22 books with Japanese lessons, the copyright of which belong to AOTS. The international-standard textbooks will be used by students at FPT University . This is just one of the many co-operative programs between the university and leading global training centers and education and information technology corporations.

The university will begin to use the textbooks in September. Upon graduating, students will have a Level-2 certification or above in Japanese, and they will have the language skills necessary to work in a Japanese-speaking environment.

The Japanese Embassy’s delegation attended meetings and held talks with students. It presented students with the chance to ask about Japan ’s information technology market and the technological trends of the future, as well as employment opportunities with Japanese software companies.
