Launching Data Center for Hanoi Capital

This project was implemented by FPT Information System Corporation (FPT IS) in 27 months from June 2011. The construction items designed by FPT IS for the Department include: data center infrastructure, network, security, server, storage, monitoring, antivirus software licensing, backup software, certificate authority and VMware-based virtualization infrastructure.

The data center recently comprises 31 physical and 81 virtual servers, meeting the Department’s requirements for expansion and data backup and distribution for the entire city while ensuring connectivity to the systems of the government.

There are four rooms in the data center for operation, network, server and power supply. All the rooms are secured with magnetic card control, finger-print identification, and camera monitoring to ensure international standard compliance and 24/7 operation.

The Hanoi Data Center is expected to connect, integrate and operate information systems, responsible for building and administering new systems and shared data centers of the entire city to meet the data enquiries of various agencies and users.

The center also the connecting point of the city’s local networks to others, ensuring information and Internet security for the entire network of the city.

Buiding such data center is the prerequisite for Hanoi to commence its e-Government in 2015.
