Launching the second Kindness Sprout Program

The Kindness Sprout fund shall sponsor an amount of 350 million Dongs for prized projects to be implemented in reality. Each project is expected to receive 35 million Dongs at maximum. Live& Learn Environmental Education organization shall provide professional recommendation for the program and projects right from the preliminary test in completion of participation profile to the final ground. The main financial and information sponsors of the program are Tien Phong Bank and Dantri e- newspaper respectively.

As unveiled by the organizer, there was a number of new points in this year program. The Second “Kindness Sprout” program would go through three stages including: project selecting; nurturing and preparing, implementing. Sorting out excellent projects for sponsorship is a part of this program.

Project authors who receive the sponsorship shall be invited to attend training programs on management of community project. They shall be able to exchange helpful information and pick up professional working methods from social affair experts of international and national non-governmental organizations.

In implementation phase, the Organization board still monitor the progress of the project, providing consultation and complementary solutions when necessary for the highest project efficiency. This is also recognized as the greatest difference of this program in comparison with the other ones.

Ms. Truong Thi Thanh Thanh – Vice Chairwoman of FPT Corporation, representative of the Organization board said: “ this year, the program regulation is modified by adding new terms prescribing the subject and structure of each competition ground. This adjustment is necessary and is one of important factor to renew the content and improve the quality of the program. Accordingly, beside free author/group of authors, universities and college may send their students to take part in the program”.

The selection phase includes three grounds: in the first stage, authors send their idea to the organization board via direct registration on the website www.vicongdong.vn or to the postal address: Vicongdong address, 14^th floor, FPT Building, Pham Hung road, Cau Giay district, Hanoi. The authors are invited to seminars and online consultancy program with experts to listen to their recommendation and complete their solution. Each project shall be evaluated right in this stage.

In the second stage, the community and consultants shall continue to assess and select twenty excellent projects to enter the final ground. In the third stage, projects shall be assessed and defend before the judging panel to be ten most excellent projects and receive sponsorship from the program.

The Kindness Sprout program is dedicated to individuals and organizations, who live and work within Vietnamese territory or outside and are interested in community activities and positive-impacted initiatives for the community without any age restriction

The Kindness Sprout is the first phase in the process of searching, nurturing and developing social businessman. The objective of the program is the nationwide selection of highly feasible and extendable community initiatives to give financial and knowledgeable sponsorship to become projects that bring true values to the community, thereby, encouraging a young generation of right understanding with ambition and capabilities to address social issues and contribute to the national development

In 2008, the program was initiated for the first time, attracting the participation of more than 3.650 young people with 116 projects. Sponsored projects such as: Warm Winter, Sharing, Rubbish and Health and Give Me an Eco-bag were completed successfully.
