Microsoft COO’s talk about cloud computing
Upon visiting Vietnam, COO Kenvin Turner of Microsoft Global shared his vision on the development of cloud computing in Vietnamese market with CEO Duong Dung Trieu of FPT Information System (FPT IS).

He also met with representatives of Microsoft’s partners in Vietnam such as FPT, CMC, and HiPT at Microsoft Vietnam’s office at 109 Tran Hung Dao, Hanoi on April 26. The COO of Microsoft talked and listened to their comments on the Vietnamese market and business opportunities so that Microsoft would provide better support for its partners.
CEO Duong Dung Trieu of FPT IS shared with Kenvin Tunner what support his company wishes to receive from Microsoft for future development, especially in the field of cloud computing. He disclosed that FPT IS had conducted researches and developed Public Cloud and Private Cloud applications, which are planned to go to the market this year.
Microsoft has invested more than USD 10 billion in cloud computing. Recently, there have been about forty million people using Microsoft Office 365.
According to Mr. Trieu, the information provided by Kenvin Tunner would help FPT IS to quickly launch and provide its cloud-based services to the market.
A recent research by Gartner forecasts that in 2012, there will be about 80% among Fortune 1,000 are serviced with cloud-based applications. The rest 20% possesses neither IT assets nor infrastructure.
Analysts insist that cloud computing is the No. 1 IT trend of the world. It can help to accelerate the development of information technology- one of the key industries of the Vietnamese economy.
