Milestones in FPT charitable activities
Considering Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) as a part of the Strategic Conference, Chim En Volunteer Award turning 5 years old, selecting March 13 as “For the Community Day” are the milestones in FPT’s charitable activities.

“For the Community Day” March 13
In order to spread and nurture its own staffs’ compassion for the needy people, FPT took March 13 as "For the Community Day” in 2010. Immediately, this activity got responses of thousands of employees across the country.
On this day, FPT staffs organize and participate in activities towards community benefits such as blood donation, visits to cancer kids, book donation and opening booths to raise funds etc.
CSR becoming a part of FPT development strategy
At the FPT Strategic Conference 2010, corporate social responsibility (CSR) was recommended and considered as a strategic direction for the first time. Three CSR orientations during 2011-2014 include increasing intelligence, energizing future and sharing with compatriot.
Accordingly, FPT have organized many programs towards community such as "For the Community Day" (March 13), Supporting the blood donations, Earth Hour, Go for Zero, spending a wage day supporting Tsunami and Earthquake Victims in Japan, supporting cancer patients and donating books to nurture dreams etc.
Awarding 25 bookshelves in 2013
Considering education as the central theme, FPT has joined hands to donate books for poor students across the country since March 13 this year. FPT desires all its own employees will jointly donate and award 25 bookcases, equivalent to 25,000 books for poor schools nationally.
So far, FPT’s member companies have awarded more than 10 bookcases for the needy schools in provinces such as Son La, Dien Bien, Bac Giang, Hue, Quang Nam and Long An.
Chim En Award turning 5 years old
Chim En Volunteer Award was held for the first time in 2009 to honor the contributions to the community of voluntary individuals and organizations. In recent years, the website vicongdong.vn has gathered about 500 volunteer groups with about 54,000 volunteers across the country.
The messengers of Chim En Award include Miss Vietnam 2010 Dang Thi Ngoc Han (2011-2012), runner-up Miss Vietnam 2010 Thuy Van, Miss Vietnam World 2007 Ngo Phuong Lan and Miss Vietnam 2012 Dang Thu Thao.
Sponsoring ViOlympic Contest
In the 2012-2013 Academic Year, FPT in collaboration with the Ministry of Education and Training held the 5th Math contest via the Internet (ViOlympic) toward elementary, junior and senior students across the country.
Officially launched in 2008 with only 800,000 members, ViOlympic attracted more than 12 million members so far and became a playing field for students interested in Math.
Nguyen Van Dao Scholarship
Nguyen Van Dao Scholarship was born in 2010 with the goal of seeking, attracting and nurturing Vietnamese young talents, enabling them to study at FPT University.
Besides, the Group also helps FPT Center for Young Talents with admission to provide "talent resource" for society.
In 2013, FPT University announced the new Nguyen Van Dao Scholarship with expanded scale, under which each scholarship includes full tuition for 4 school years along with the tuition of preparatory English course. Each scholarship is also supported VND 2 million/ month of living expenses with a maximum of 48 months. Its total value is up to VND 300 million.
Volunteer activities are spread to member units and individual
In addition to the activities of the group, the member units have also launched significant volunteer programs. As outstanding units, FPT Software and FPT University donated up to hundreds of millions with a series of programs.
Besides, there are many volunteer groups to organize many meaningful charitable trips by themselves. "Khoa and Friends" (FPT Trading HCM) is known as an excellent volunteer group.
"In 2013, the Group expects to make 25 charitable trips and mobilize 2,500 blood units for donation, contributing to “FPT faith - a quarter century” journey”, Director of FPT HCM Mrs. Truong Thanh Thanh in charge of the CSR, said. In the future, FPT is thought to play an important role in CSR of the region and achieve international CSR standards.
