Nokia and FPT cooperate to promote growth of Nokia Lumia
The Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) between Nokia Corporation and FPT Corporation was officially signed in the afternoon of 28 October 2013 in FPT Cau Giay Building, Hanoi. The event marks a new step of development in the relationship between the two sides as well as opens up prospects for future cooperation.

The signing ceremony of the MOU was attended by leaders from both sides including Executive Vice President, Devices & Services, Nokia Corporation Mr. Stephen Elop, Chairman of FPT Corporation Mr. Truong Gia Binh and CEO of FPT Mr. Bui Quang Ngoc.
Accordingly, the two leading technology groups in Finland (Nokia) and Vietnam (FPT) will realize cooperation opportunities in various fields in which both parties have strengths and solid foundation.
The most important contents of the MOU between Nokia Corporation and FPT Corporation include:
- Enhancing Nokia Lumia distribution to corporate clients in the Vietnamese market;
- Developing mobile app ecosystem for Windows Phone in Vietnam.
In particular, Nokia and FPT together build Windows Phone applications for community and individual customers; localize compatible international applications for Vietnamese users; open up opportunities for Nokia Lumia users in Vietnam to preload related applications including games.

The event not only marks a new step of development in Nokia - FPT relation in the phone distribution, but also reaffirms commitment to development of new technologies such as Big Data, Cloud Computing and Mobility".
Thanks to the MOU, FPT has opportunity to earn a solid foothold in the Nokia/Microsoft’s ecosystem as an Eco-Partner - Partner develops applications for Windows Phone. This is one of FPT’s steps to enter the global market and approach business customers in the field of Apps development for Windows Phone, with the support of Nokia/Microsoft.
At the signing ceremony, the Nokia leaders visited FPT building and directly experience the latest technologies FPT is researching and developing, such as Big Data, Cloud Computing and Mobility.
Earlier on 28 October 2013, Nokia Corporation inaugurated the first phone factory in Bac Ninh province, showing its determination to dominate the mobile market in Vietnam. The factory is located in the area of 17 hectares with the initial investment capital of 200 million Euros and expected to generate jobs for about 10 thousand employees.
