Opening 2014 Technology Day
With the theme of SMAC, the annual event of FPT Corp attracted more than 200 technology experts and guests. It was held at FPT University, Hoa Lac High Tech Park, Hanoi on May 13.

Besides leaders and technology staffs of the Corp, participants in this year's Technology Day included former Deputy Minister of Science and Technology and Chairman of the Viet Nam Association for Information Processing (VAIP) Bui Manh Hai, former Deputy Head of the General Department of Technique, Ministry of Defense Nguyen Quang Bac, Deputy Head of Institute of Sociology, Vietnam Academy of Social Sciences Vu Manh Loi, VINASA Science and Technology Institute Nguyen Viet Hai and Deputy General Secretary of VINASA Le Xuan Hoa.
After the opening speeches of FPT Chairman Truong Gia Binh and Chief Technology Officer Nguyen Lam Phuong, the technology experts at Gartner, Cisco Vietnam and TP Bank presented issues related to SMAC in turn.
Senior Research Analyst at Gartner Sid Deshpande introduced the Nexus of Forces and how to identify those areas where exploiting the Nexus of Forces can help their business. CTO of Cisco Vietnam Phan Thanh Son mentioned how to catch opportunities of Internet of Things. TP Bank was one of Vietnam’s pioneer banks in deploying SMAC in its activities. According to TP Bank CTO Bui Quang Cuong, the bank was focusing on Mobility.
SMAC applications in FPT’s member companies were also informed. CTO of FPT Software Le Hong Viet shared successful applications of SMAC. CTO of FPT IS Dao Gia Hanh presented enterprise SMAC applications. CTO of FPT Telecom analyzed how SMAC helped optimize and develop services. CTO of FPT Online Le Dinh Dat shared Adtech - platform for smart digital enterprises.
On the same day, SMAC-related seminars including Social Network, Mobile Technology, Analysis, Cloud Computing and Security etc. also took place. In addition, there was a presentation on Big Data by Amazon expert Markku Lepisto.
On May 16, the event is held at FPT Tan Thuan building, HCMC.
The annual event Technology Day took place in 2013 for the first time. The first program attracted 300 experts, students and technology investors.
