Orchid Fund becomes FPT’s largest shareholder

Possessing more than 8% of ownership, the Singapore-based Orchid Fund Private Limited became the largest shareholder of FPT Corporation on November 30.

The State Securities Commission reported that at the time of November 30, 2011, Orchid Fund had bought more than 2.5 million FPT share, increasing its ownership ratio from 6.94% to 8.129%. It is holding 17,564,000 shares and becomes the largest shareholder of FPT. FPT Chairman Truong Gia Binh stands the second with 7.24% of ownership, which is equal to 15.6 million shares.

Previously, Orchid Fund Private Limited had registered to buy 6.37 million shares to possess 9.9% of FPT ownership from November 4, 2011 to January 4, 2012.

Orchid Fund explained the reason for this act was to restructure its investment porfolio .

In November, 2011, FPT ranked second of the fifteen stocks bought most by foreign investors with total trading value of more than 161 billion dongs.

Orchid Fund Private Limited, headquartered in Singapore, is fully owned by R.F. Chandler. It invested 970 billion dongs to buy 20 million shares of the Masan Group (MSN) at the end of October.
