FPT University’s short-list exam in April 2009 attracted nearly 7,000 candidates from 64 provinces and cities in Vietnam. With the announced score level, 2,713 candidates have passed this exam.

Among the successful candidates, 403 of them have achieved acceptable score levels to participate in the credit preferential programme and the “Invest with you” programme, and 136 excellent candidates will be considered to be granted full and half scholarships during 4 academic years at the university.

According to the statistics from the Admission Council, there have been 88 essays with maximum scores (15/15), which have shown sharp thoughts and issue-analyzing ways. The average score of all candidates is 55.5/105 points.

Surpassing nearly 7,000 candidates, Nguyen Huynh Hac from Le Hong Phong Gifted High School in Ho Chi Minh City have achieved 100/105 points, becoming the best candidate in the exam.

Mr. Nguyen Xuan Phong, Vice-Rector, Chairman of the Admission Council of FPT University said: “The results of the exam in April 2009 were a little lower than those in April 2008, because this year’s exam questions were more difficult. This is the reason why the acceptable score levels this year were a little lower than those in 2008 (2 points lower over 105 points overall). However, the score scale showed that the quality of the exam questions was very stable and allowed us to classify good candidates and there were almost no changes in comparison with the previous exams.”

To create favourable conditions for faraway students, FPT University will organize interviews to grant scholarships and other financial supporting programmes in three periods and 3 locations: Hanoi, Da Nang and Ho Chi Minh City, among which Period 2 and 3 will be organized immediately after the national university entrance exam organized by Ministry of Education and Training.

Candidates who are eligible for interviews for scholarships or financial supporting programmes will have to register for locations and time for interviews at the website or at enrolment consultancy offices of the University from May 13, 2009 to May 31, 2009.

In order to become an official student of FPT University, candidates need one more condition: their scores must be at least equal to the floor score of the national university entrance exam organized by Ministry of Education and Training (except those who are members of Olympic teams).

Candidates who meet all the requirements can participate in the school-entering procedures from August 01, 2009 till before 17.00 of September 10, 2009 at enrolment offices of FPT University.

Admission-announcement papers and score-announcement papers will be sent through postal services to candidates’ registered addresses within 2 weeks counting from the result announcement day. As scheduled, FPT University will continue to organize another short-list exam on August 09, 2009.
