President of Hanoi People’s Committee visits FPT University
On 30 March 2007 the President of the Hanoi People’s Committee, along with delegates from Departments and the People’s Committee, visited FPT University’s headquarters in Pham Hung, Cau Giay district. His aim was to learn about the new training model in the capital to support the consolidation and development of an advanced university to provide reliable human resources for Hanoi’s information technology industry.

FPT University was established to train and supply human resources for the information technology industry and others related to IT companies in Hanoi and Vietnam .
After officially working with FPT University managers, the President also took a tour around classrooms and computer rooms, and held an open talk with students at FPT University and Mrs. Freda Johnson - Head of English Department. Mrs. Johnson suggested that FPT University ’s infrastructure should be financed to enable it to implement cooperation with international universities. There was also a need to attract foreign experts, scientists, and professors of great talent to research and teach at FPT and other universities in Vietnam by providing them with favorable conditions to do so.
FPT University ’s enrollment for the second session has been held and, to date, 4,000 candidates have enrolled in the 29 April 2007 examination. It is expected that by 2010 FPT University will have five IT majors for selection by students (Software Technology, Informatics Systems, Computer Science, Computer Technology, and IT Applications). By 2015 the university will develop faculties of advance technologies and business management for 60,000 students nationwide.
