Press Release: Completing 11 months, FPT earned 2,149 billion dongs before tax

In the mist of not-yet-recovered domestic economy, FPT Corporation is focusing all resources to complete the 2012 business plan. After 11 months, the corporate revenue was 21,856 billion dongs, slightly surpassing US$ 1 billion. Profit-before-tax reached 2,149 billion dongs while the profit-after-tax of parent company was 1,364 billion dongs, earning 5,019 dongs per share. After having paid 1,800 billion dongs of mobilization bonds at the rate of 7% for the bond holders in early October, FPT has settled all the notable long term loans. The cash-in-hand is always maintained at safe level to secure financial status for the entire business system.

Software outsourcing and services maintain positive growth rate. Telecommunication, online services and IT services grow 30% when compared to the same period last year. Especially, software outsourcing continues to well maintain the growth rate of over 30%.

Telecommunications

FPT Telecom meets quality standard for ADSL services

The ADSL Internet Service by FPT Telecom was announced to meet industry standard measured by the Telecommunication Division, MIC, on November 6, 2012

The Division also concluded that the service quality statement on the page www.fpt.vn and the listing of Service Quality Statement at each of its trading office are matched with the QCVN 34:2011/BTTTT and the Service Quality Statement No. 04/FTEL dated April 16, 2012.

FPT Telecom sponsored 1 billion dongs for the ViOlympic competition

On November 26, 2012, FPT Telecom and FPT University signed the sponsorship agreement for the online mathematics competition ViOlympic. The total contract value was approximately 1 billion dongs.

Accordingly, FPT Telecom will give awards to the highest scorers from provincial to national level exams.

As the competion’s companion, FPT Telecom has been integrating ViOlympic-related contents including exam registration guideline and preparation to the Internet and Life series, which was initiated in early 2012 in the Northern provinces and cities.

Software

FPT Software wishes to cooperate with Japan in BPO

On November 8, FPT Software Chairman Hoang Nam Tien received the New Service Business Study Group (NSBSG) from Japan in FPT Building in Da Nang.

The NSBSG delegation shared with FPT Software the cooperation opportunities regarding Business Process Outsourcing (BPO), which is one of the new development strategies of FPT Software in the future.

System Integration

In November, FPT Information System (FPT IS) continued to sign many big contracts while spending great effort to complete its on-going projects with the customers.

Launching two SAP ERP projects for foreign clients

The project to implement SAP ERP solution for Global Vietnam Aluminium (GVA) was officially launched on November 6 at the GVA’s office in Ho Chi Minh City.

This is the first foreign company to implement an end-to-end ERP system with FPT IS ERP HCM. In this project, FPT IS will implement the core ERP component including Finance- Acoounting, Procurement and Warehouse, Sales and Production in the client’s headoffice in Ho Chi Minh City and its plant in Phu My, Ba Ria- Vung Tau. The project was expected to finish within five months.

FPT IS implement and delivery training for project funded by Bill&Melinda Gates Foundation (BMGF)

In late November, 2012, FPT IS cooperated with the Project Management Unit of the project “Improvement of Computer Usage and Public Internet Access Ability in Vietnam”.

On 25 November, the opening ceremony of 634 public Internet access points in twelve provinces participating the first phase of the extended project “Improvement of Computer Usage and Public Internet Access Ability in Vietnam” (BMGF-VN) was organized in Ha Giang City Library.

The total project expense is US$50.5 million, 29.9 million of which is funded by the BMGF and 3.6 million dollars is in Microsoft software.

Successfully implementing corebanking project for Laos Viet Bank

The project to migrate the corebanking system for Lao Viet Joint Venture Bank was officially announced a success on 25 November at Vientiane Plaza, Vientiane, Lao People’s Democratic Republic.

This is a large project primed by FPT IS with the total contract value of US$4.3 million for both software and hardware components, in which Flexcube is a large software system with multiple complicated modules.

FPT IS won another contract from VMS Mobiphone

In November 2012, FPT IS won the bid from Value-Added Service Center, VMS Mobiphone for the package Procurement and Installment of Router.

FPT IS TES, a member company of FPT IS, will provide Supporting System for content providers (CP) locating in Ho Chi minh City to manage the transmission lines centrally and synchronize the policies with those of the CP supporting system in Hanoi. This project will help to save remarkable area and power consumption when the CP is connected with the MobiFone network in Ho Chi Minh City.

FPT IS won bid from Ministry of Commerce of Cambodia

In November 2012, FPT IS was declared winner of the project “Supply and installation of LAN and server system” to implement the e-portal for the Ministry of Commerce of Cambodia.

Accordingly, FPT IS would provide and implement two software systems including “Verifying Certificate of Origin” and “FPT.eGov information portal” together with a number of hardware components for the Ministry. The company had prevailed over three Cambodian IT companies, three foreign vendors and two other Vietnamese companies to win this bid.

FPT won high awards at the ASEAN ICT 2012

FPT Information System (FPT IS) created strong impression when both of its norminated software had received high award at the ASEAN ICT Awards 2012 (AICTA), making Vietnam one of the two countries with the best achievement in this year award. The award presentation took place within the framework of the ASEAN’s 12th Miniterial Meeting of Telecommunication and Information Technology in the Philippines on November 15.

Accordingly, Vietnam achieved the Gold medal for FPT.eHospital (the software solution for private sector) and the Silver one for the FPT.eGov (the software solution for public sector). Both of the software are developed by FPT IS.

Progresses of developing IT as the “infrastructure of infrastructre”

Piloting electronic transportation flash board

On November 9, the signing ceremony to pilot “electronic transportation flash board” was organized by FPT Technology Solution Co. Ltd. (FTS), VOV Transportation Channel and Ho Chi Minh City Department of Transportation.

Traffic news provided by the VOV Transportation Channel will be encrypted, visually processed and updated by FTS to the electronic transportation flash board. For example, the green color on the board indicates the traffic as clear, yellow as crowded and red as traffic jam.

At the moment, the Department has installed fourteen flash boards on primary traffic nodes in Nam Ky Khoi Nghia, Hoang Van Thu, and Lang Cha Ca cross road. The pilot phase is implemented from November 9, 2012 to April 2013.

FPT implements six IT applications for Da Nang City.

The Conference to launch the project “Development of additional Public Services for Da Nang City” by Da Nang Department of Information and Communications and FPT Information System (FPT IS) took place on November 1, enhancing FPT’s belief in its strategy to make Information Technology the infrastructure of infrastructure.

As agreed, FPT IS will implement six IT applications for Da Nang in seven months from October 2012 to June 2013. It will help the city digitalize the database and computerize all the business procedures of its public service system, building information management system, bus route controlling system, water quality monitoring system, Certificate Authority and IT infrastructure information management system.

This project aims to computerize the administrative and public service system, creating a modern and intelligent service system for Da Nang City.

Education

FPT University rated three stars

FPT University has become the first university in Vietnam to be officially rated Three-star-standard by the QS Stars at the QS APPLE International Education Conference in Indonesia on November 16, in which teaching quality and social engagement were rated five stars.

To enter the ranking list, the University had undergone strict assessment procedure by the Organization with eight criteria including Teaching, Employability, Research, Internationalization, Facility, Engagement, Accreditation, and Access. FPT University was rated five stars for Teaching and Engagement and four stars for Facility, Employability, and Access.

Distribution and manufacturing of technology products

FPT distributes the third generation of quadcore mobile phone

On November 12, the Lenovo’s premier K860 was officially distributed across the nation by FPT Center of Electronics (FCE).

Being the first Lenovo smartphone to be equipped with powerful configuration comprising the Exynos 4412 quadcore chip of 1.5GHz speed, 1GB RAM, and Mali-400MP GPU and 8GB of internal memory, K860 is expected to satisfy the most demanding technological requirements of users.

The Lenovo K860 is now availabe in black and widely sold in the Vietnamese market at VND 9,999,000 (VAT included).

FPT distributes Popcorn Hour A-40

Commencing December, 2012, FPT Trading will distribute the latest HD Player by Syabas Technology (Malaysia) named Popcorn Hour A-400 with outstanding efficiency and complete compatibility with the ISO Bluray 3D standard.

Upon being launched, the HD player - Porcorn Hour A-400 was enthusiastically welcomed by movie lovers all over the world. Regarding hardware component, Popcorn Hour A-400 is designed on the previously born A-300 with key improvement on faster and smoothier processing and better connection.

FPT introduces its first qHD mobile phone

FPT HD, which was launched by FPT Technology Product Co. Ltd. (FTP) on 28th November, is expected to bring fascinating experience to Vietnamese users

FPT HD is operated on Android 4.0 with 512 MB of RAM, and 4 GB of ROM for smooth and stable running at high speed. The product employs the latest generation of Qualcomm S4 processor for less energy consumption. It’s waiting time can reach 180 hours thank to the battery capacity of up to 1.800 mAh.

Like other products made by FPT, the FPT HD phone is integrated the F-Store with a variety of applications suitable with the culture and entertainment demands of Vietnamese users.

FPT continues introducing FPT Tablet HD

The HD tablet, which is about to be launched by FPT Technology Product Co. Ltd. (FTP) is considered the “mate” of FPT HD smart phone.

FPT HD Tablet features a powerful configuration with All winner A 10 micro-processor at 1.0 GHz of speed, 1 GB of RAM and 8GB of ROM. Usable internal memory is 5GB and can be extended to 32GB .

F-Store upgrades the mobile version

In November, the application store F-store developed by FPT Digital Content Co. Ltd. (FMA, FPT Trading) was successfully upgraded with its version for mobile phone.

The upgrade version is available at http://f-store.vn/home.html, facilitating mobile users access to the application store.

The outstanding feature of the upgraded version is that upon opening the F-Store icon on the phone, the majority of hottest applications will appear first, including essential utilities such as: smart sms, call management,and smart phone management.

FPT Retail opened F.Studio Vincom Center A

On November 17, FPT Retail opened its new F.Studio in exciting atmostphere on the B1-15 floor, Vincom Center A, District 1, Ho Chi Minh City.

Upon the opening occasion, from 17 to 23 November, FPT Retail offered attractive promotional programs for customers visiting the F.Studio Vincom Center A.
