Press release: FPT earned 1,755 billion dongs in profit in nine months of 2012

Despite difficult economic environment in Vietnam, FPT Group has spent great efforts to drive its business machine as planned. Finishing nine months, the profit-before-tax of the company reached 1,755 billion dongs, completing 103% of quarter plan and 69% of the entire year. Corporate revenue was 17,616 billion dongs, fulfilling 101% of quarter plan and 68% of year plan. Profit-after-tax of parent company is achieved at 103% of plan to 1,091 billion dongs, earning 4,023 dongs per share on average.
This fairly optimistic result was brought by intensive strategy to boost service offering as well as expanding software outsourcing to the international market. For the last nine months, the revenue from services such as telecommunication, online and IT has grown over 26%, and 31% from software outsourcing activity.

Mr. Truong Gia Binh retakes the CEO Chair
On September 26, 2012, Mr. Truong Dinh Anh officially handed in his resignation from the CEO title of FPT Corporation . The company’s Board of Directors approved his resignation, appointing Dr. Binh, its current Chairman, to the position commencing on the same day . Truong Dinh Anh continues to keep his roles as member of the Board of Directors and Board of Founders of FPT Corporation. He is also a member of management board and senior adviser in FPT’s subsidiaries such as FPT Retail, FPT Telecom, and FPT Online .
FPT Chairman Truong Gia Binh will play the double role from September 26, 2012 until when his assignment is approved by the General Shareholder Meeting, which expects to be organized in early 2013 .
F-1 satellite successfully detached from ISS
At 22:45 on October 4, the F-1 satellite was released from the ISS by a robotic arm to start its mission. At the velocity of 5 centimeters per second, the F-1 executed its first tasks such as antenna release and signal transmitting after 30 minutes to ensure it would cause no effect on the ISS’ operation.

FPT Software officially becomes one of the Top 100 Global Service Providers 2012, which was jointly evaluated and declared by Global Services (India) and NeoGroup (the U.S.) on August 3, 2012.
Top 100 Global Service Providers is the collection of outstanding companies specializing in Information Technology Outsourcing (ITO) and Business Process Outsourcing (BPO) from all over the world.
Nominated companies are selected based on four criteria including: business performance and leadership capability; customer quality and maturity; service diversity and worldwide service coverage. FPT achieves many ICT Vietnam awards
FPT received three gold medals and five awards at the 14th Top 5 and Gold Medal of ICT Vietnam hosted by Ho Chi Minh City Computing Association (HCA) on August 29 at the Independent Palace, district 1, Ho Chi Minh City. The company was awarded the Leading ICT Company of Vietnam in 2012. FPT’s member companies received Top 5 ICT Vietnam award include FPT Elead, FPT Information System (with two awards in a row) and FPT Software. Gold medals for Hardware; Internet and Telecommunications Services; Software Outsourcing and IT Training Services go to FPT Technology Product, FPT Telecom, FPT Software and FPT Aptech, respectively .
FPT won the best annual report 2012
The 5th Anniversary of Voting and Award Presentation of the Best Annual Report was held in Ho Chi Minh City on July 14 to honor fifty enterprises who had scored the best for their annual reports. FPT’s report ranked the seventh among the ten most outstanding one .
FPT also received certificate of merit by the State Securities Committee for making the best annual reports in five consecutive years .

FPT Telecom expands service coverage to Ninh Thuan
On October 5, Binh Thuan Branch, the 44th branch of FPT Telecom was officially opened at 256 Ngo Gia Tu, Tan Tai ward, Phan Rang- Thap Cham city.
FPT Software and Harvey Nash signed Master Service Agreement
On October 2, FPT Software and Harvey Nash signed the Master Service Agreement, in which the two sides would enter further cooperation level and FPT Software would provide new ranges of value-added services such as Mobility, Cloud Computing, Electronic Data Interchange (EDI), and Platform Migration beside conventional software outsourcing services for Harvey Nash in the British market.
PIT project finished mass implementation phase
On October 01, 2012 the Personal Income Tax Management System project (PIT) turned significant point upon completing mass implementation phase for the rest 19 provinces. Accordingly, more than 700 tax agents across the nation have officially operated on the application. The General Department of Taxation and provincial tax offices expressed their satisfaction in the project implementation process and their confidence in the expertise of the project team.
FPT became Lenovo’s authorized distributor
On September 28, 2012 - FPT Trading and Lenovo signed the agreement to enable FPT to distribute Lenovo-branded mobile phones. This marks the effort of FPT to extend the distribution system of hi-tech products in the Vietnamese market.
FPT IS became Oracle’s service partner
Commencing September 27, FPT IS started to provide services for Oracle’s hardware including installation, warranty and maintenance in Vietnam. By dialing the 24/7 hotline number, the customers are profited from onsite support provided by FPT IS for each trouble-shooting issue.
Implement ERP SAP A1 for Global Vietnam Aluminium
On September 25, FPT IS ERP signed the contract to implement the ERP SAP A1 solution for Global Vietnam Aluminium – a 100% Australian- owned company. The contract components include hardware supply, software license, installation, warranty and maintenance service. Previously, FPT IS had signed the second contract with the Japan-based Abeam to provide ERP solution for Panasonic Vietnam. The project would last from August, 2012 to March, 2013.
Implementing FPT.iHRP for Vedan Vietnam
On September 7, FPT IS signed the contract to provide and implement the FPT.iHRP for Vedan Vietnam. This is the eleventh clients to deploy FPT IS’ human resource management solution in 2012 .
Winning the bid to build information infrastructure center for Vinh Phuc province.
In September 9, 2012, FPT IS won the bid “Upgrade and develop application software” for the project “Building Information Infrastructure for Vinh Phuc Province” . This is the first among three packages that is going to be invested by the province to centrally manage industry-professional data to facilitate the complete construction of an e-government system by 2015.
Winning bid to implement FPT.eGOV solution for Cambodian Ministry of Trade
In early September, 2012, FPT IS was officially announce winner of the bid “Supply and Implementation of Certificate of Origin Solution and FPT.eGov portal” for the Cambodian Ministry of Trade. FPT IS will play as the prime contractor to provide and implement the Certificate of Origin Solution and the FPT.eGov portal along with several hardware components for the Ministry. The project is expected to start in early October and will last for six months.
FPT opens the Apple Authorized F.Studio
On September 25, the second F-Studio was opened in 121 Le Loi, Dist. 1, Ho Chi Minh City. Upon this occasion, FPT Retail officially changed the brand identity for its retail system of Apple products in Vietnam, where iStore Premium is changed to F.Store. Previously, on September 17, FPT Retail opened its first authorized Apple store named F.Studio on the 1st floor, Indochina Plaza Building, 239 Xuan Thuy, Cau Giay, Hanoi .
Providing FPT.eHospital solution for HoaLam – Shangri-la1
On July 10, 2012, FPT Information SyTem (FPT IS) and HoaLam – Shangri-la1 signed the contract to provide FPT.eHospital solution for International City Hospital in Ho Chi Minh City.
FPT.eHospital has shown outstanding features over competitors from India, China, Singapore and Vietnam .
FPT IS provides Salesforce CRM for Honda Vietnam
Last July, FPT IS signed the contract to implement the Salesforce CRM system for Honda Vietnam, in which its member, FPT IS Software Development Co. Ltd., will provide CRM license. The company also provides Honda Vietnam with consultation service, customization and system training.

B-Kool 'to be on stage'
On October 8, the first online game developed by FPT Online named B-Kool was officially launched, allowing users to register and load game at http://kool.gate.vn . B-Kool is the music and dance category, which has undergone continual improvement since 2010 and achieved the first success with Venus Star Award in 2012.
FTP introduces FPT F8 mobile phone
On August 24, FPT Technology Product Company (FTP) introduced the FPT F8, the cheapest 3G mobile phone in the market.
The outstanding feature of this dual-sim mobile phone is the 3.5-inch wide touch screen, running on the Android 2.3.6 operating system and is equipped with the F-Store for Vietnamese mobile applications.
FPT F8 is a user-friendly phone with Vietnamese keyboard, enabling various connection standards including 3G, WiFi, GPRS, GPS, USB, and Bluetooth and is equipped with acceleration velocity, light and asymptotical sensor.
Dragonica opens door to the Fairy-land
On August 15, the latest version of Dragonica named the Legend of Dragon was launched by FPT Online.
This version was inspired by images of the fairyland, which was also completed with new features for game from all perspectives .
OneTV introduces new generation remote control
On July 9, OneTV Center of FPT Telecom introduced the new generation remote control for the Comtrend modem . Having modern design with reasonable button size and palm-comforted-shape, the remote brings user convenient experience despite long time holding and button presses .

FSB organize training course for managers of BIDV
On October 1, the FPT School of Business (FSB) cooperated with the Bank of Investment and Development of Vietnam (BIDV) to open the “Special training course for trading managers of BIDV” as a part of professional training programs dedicated for managers of trading offices to improve their managerial capability.
FPT Polytechnic admits students for college training throughout the country
In September 2012, FPT Polytechnic continued the admission of the 9.1 course for students across the nation, who desire to acquire more knowledge through “Real learning- Real practice” philosophy. The college provides training on information technology (web design, software application), enterprise accounting and business administration.
FPT University organized the 4th graduation ceremony
On July 21, 2012, FPT University organized the first graduation ceremony for its 4th course software engineering students in Hanoi Opera House, No. 1 Trang Tien, Hanoi . There had been 113 students attending the 4th course of software engineering, which lasted for four years with English and Japanese training and more than 100 examinations taken . It is estimated that 100% of FPT University students are able to find a job at an average initial salary of 7.2 million dongs .
