For the time being, Vietnam remains an agriculture based economy country meanwhile the fragile industry and production method, natural resources are great dangers exposures to health and environment. Pressure of economic efficiency makes improper attention paid to environment and health of workers. As an expert, Professor Sharon shared necessary experiences with students to acknowledge significance and importance of occupational health and environment which are not only useful knowledge for short time but also for the long term as graduates start working.
Professor Sharon Morris had 10 year experience working in the labor and environment at National Institute on Occupational Health (NIOSH) in Washington. She held two international science workshops on the occupation health in Hanoi in 2003 and 2005. During her work stay in Vietnam, she experienced in Bac Ha province and shared her experiences with FPT students, particularly volunteer students and children of minority groups who are her concerns.
Useful information of personal, regional and professional culture of the professor Sharon Morris helped the talk show interested. The event is an extra curriculum which is regularly held by lecturers of English – English Division with aim to help students improve their foreign language proficiency and social understandings.
