Profit-after-tax of holding company increased by 6 % after 10 months
After the first 10 months, FPT earned the total revenue of VND 27,296 billion, increasing by 22% compared to the same period last year and finishing 109% of the 10-month plan, primarily driven by growth from Distribution and Retail, Software Export and Telecommunications.

Pre-tax profit reached VND 2,059 billion, up 0.4% compared with the same period last year, completing 96% of the 10-month plan. Profit-after-tax was VND 1,745 billion, increasing by 3% compared to the same period of the prior year. Profit-after-tax of holding company was VND 1,345 billion, increasing by 6% compared to the same period of the prior year. Earning per share (EPS) was VND 3,911, an increase of 6% compared to the same period.
Foreign markets continued to make positive contributions to both revenue and profit due to market expansion and M&A strategy. After 10 months, revenue from the global businesses reached VND 2,875 billion, equivalent to USD 136 million, up 34% compared to the same period last year and pre-tax profit was VND 460 billion, up 6% over the same period.

Chairman emeritus of WITSA appointed as member of FPT’S BOD
On October 31, the Board of Directors of FPT Corporation appointed Mr. Dan E Khoo, Chairman Emeritus of World Information Technology and Service Alliance (WITSA), a global alliance of information technology associations from 84 different countries as a ‘temporary member’ of the Board of Directors from November 1st, 2014 until being approved at the next General Shareholders’ Meeting.
FPT and Fujitsu jointly run trial project on applying IT in agriculture
In the morning of October 28, FPT and Fujitsu – a leading IT firm in Japan - announced that they would co-operate in running Akisai Cloud (a service comprehensively supports agricultural management solution based on cloud computing) in Vietnam.
Under the agreement, Fujitsu and FPT will carry out a one-year trial project from 2015 to 2016, with the former providing cloud services, equipment and expertise. As a leading ICT company in Viet Nam, FPT will be in charge of receiving the technology transfer fromand applying Fujitsu’s technology in agriculture in Vietnam.
Mr. Truong Gia Binh elected as the first vice chairman of ASOCIO
Chairman of the Vietnam Software and IT Services Association (VINASA) cum Chairman of FPT Corporation was elected as the first vice chairman of ASOCIO. Chairman of the Association of Thai ICT Industry (ATCI) Bunrak Saraggananda was voted the new chairman of the ASOCIO.
The fact that VINASA’s Chairman cum Chairman of FPT Corporation has been elected the second highest position in ASOCIO has shown Vietnam’s high position and reputation in the Asian Oceania IT community.

FPT Software possess leading human resource pool in ASEAN
Vietnam Software and IT Services Association (VINASA) announced that FPT Software was named in Vietnam’s 30 Leading ICT Companies 2014 at the event held on October 27.
The program aimed to select Vietnam's 30 leading ICT companies 2014 in two areas of Software Packaging and BPO/Outsourcing/Offshore in order to introduce and spread them to potential customers and partners in nearly 100 countries and territories.

FPT IS won the first million-dollar contract in Philippines
On October 27 in Manila, FPT Information System Company (FPT IS) signed a USD1.4 million contract to provide a complaint and denunciation management system for the government of Philippines.
The tender is a part of a financial support package given by the United States to the Philippines. The package aims to boost the Filipino people’s income by stimulating government and individual consumption, increase tax revenues and prevent corruption. The management system is expected to be implemented in 10 months in the country's government agencies including the Ministry of Finance, General Departments of Taxation, Customs, etc.
E-ticket train project in finishing phase
On October 24, at the headquarters of Vietnam Railways, the Management and Selling e-ticket system which has been built and developed by FPT IS was tested in the witness of leaders of the two parties.
The "Gorilla Test" trial is an important milestone, marking the final completion phase before getting ready to sell railway tickets online nationwide in November 21.
Nearly 50 people who are FPT’s experienced testers, officers of Vietnam Railways and people who are not IT specialists have played the roles of tickets buyers.
E-ticket system of Vietnam Railways is the product of cooperation with FPT in form of a full IT solution leasing being rolled out for the first time in Vietnam. The project will be implemented in seven years, divided into 3 phases with a total investment cost of VND 197 billion.

Manager of FPT Play – an OTT application of FPT Telecom Mr. Phan Thanh Gian became a speaker in Mobile Marketing Forum (MMA Forum-MMAF) Vietnam 2014 held on October 30 at Intercontinental Asiana Saigon hotel.

FPT Telecom ranked No.2 in broadband Internet market share
On October 27, the Ministry of Information and Communication officially released Vietnam’s 2014 White Book on Information and Communication Technologies (ICT). Accordingly, with 56.25% market share of broadband Internet VNPT ranked the first while FPT Telecom ranked 2nd with 26.80% market share in 2013.

FPT University is the host of national youth debate contest
From October 13 to 18, the first national debate camp took place at FPT University with the participation of 30 selected students from all over the country.
The program was held by FPT University in collaboration with Youth to Debate (Y2D) and funded from Open Society Foundations. Being held for the first time, the camp gathered the most excellent young faces in debate nationwide to discuss and compete based on the topic of "The youth and their grown-up process". The camp is considered a premise to bring the debate culture to Vietnamese youth, help them study and master debating.
