Return 100 million VND to customer

On July 10, 2009, Ms. Bui Thanh Huong, cashier at Can Tho Branch of TienPhongBank, detected a customer’s mistake and returned over 100 million VNDs to this customer.

The customer has shown his admiration and sincere gratitude to Ms. Bui Thanh Huong as well as TienPhongBank.

Mr. Le Quang Tien - Chairman of the Management Board, and Mr. Dao Trong Khanh - CEO of TienPhongBank, have sent complimenting letters to Ms. Bui Thanh Huong and commended her within the scope of the bank.

Through the incident, the leaders of TienPhongBank have also appealed to the staff of TienPhongBank to promote the professional and honest spirit.

This case happened when an individual customer needed to deposit 800 million VNDs into his/her savings account at the Can Tho Branch of TienPhongBank, and in order to assure the safety, the bank’s officers came to the customer’s home to get the money.

Having come back to the office, through preliminary check, Ms. Bui Thanh Huong discovered that the customer overpaid 200 500,000-VND notes, equivalent to 100 million VNDs. Under detailed checking, Ms. Huong went on to find out that this customer overpaid another 500,000-VND note. In summary, the total value of the overpaid money that Ms. Huong announced to the customer was 100,5 million VNDs.
