“Swallow 2009” Award enters the final assessment round
Hanoi, June 17, 2009, after the ending of the online assessment stage of the community at the website http://vicongdong.vn, “Swallow 2009” Award Organization Board has selected 40 documents of groups and individuals who have had excellent voluntary charitable activities in Vietnam for the third stage – the stage of assessment by the Award Assessment Council. The Club of Students Propagandizing to Prevent Social Evils and HIV/AIDS under Student Association at Hanoi National Economics University is the group assessed the highest at the second stage with a score of 3885 points.
Next is the Nghe An – Ha Tinh Voluntary Student Team; Quang Binh Online; BCHanoi Club…
At the top of the list of individuals at the second stage is Mr. Nguyen Cong Hung, Director of “Nghị Lực Sống” (mental strength to live) Center with a score of 2230 points; next is Trinh Cong Thanh, Ta Bich Huong, Nguyen Thao Van, Khuc Hai Van …, all of whom are disabled people.
The online assessment stage at the website www.vicongdong.vn has attracted the popular concern of the public and has created hot discussions at the website of the award.
Since June 17, the Assessment Council consisting of 7 prestigious experts in the community field have worked to choose groups and individuals who will be honoured and supported this year.
Ms. Tran Thi Nguyet Oanh, Vice CEO of professional management of TienPhongBank, a member of the Assessment Council, said: “We are very happy to receive positive reactions from the charitable and voluntary community in many parts of Vietnam as well as from the Vietnamese abroad. This award has also attracted the participation of many social components, such as Vietnamese Communist Youth Union, members of some organizations like Old-age People’s Association, Disabled People’s Association… voluntary members of projects, NGOs and many spontaneous volunteers. We will “talk” to candidates to have reasonable assessment results.”
As scheduled, the award-granting ceremony will take place in the evening of June 28, 2009, with 5 equal-rank awards for groups, 5 equal-rank awards for individuals and the awards for nominators with the total value of 200 million VNDs.
Each award-winning group will be sponsored 20 million VNDs, each award-winning individual will be sponsored 10 million VNDs for charitable voluntary activities of the group in 2009 (in accordance with the attached financial regulations).
Each individual nominating the group or individual winning the Swallow Award will receive an award of 01 million VNDs, a certificate of merit and memory symbol of the programme.
“Swallow 2009” Award was started by FPT Corporation on April 15, 2009 to honour groups and individuals who had had excellent voluntary charitable activities in Vietnam in 2008.
The award is organized at the website www.vicongdong.vn from April 2009 to June 2009.
Ngo Phuong Lan – Miss Vietnam Global 2007, Chairman of Starfish Charity, will be the representative image of this humane award.
