Technology sector’s PBT soared by 44.4% YoY

In 1H2019, revenue and PBT increased by 22.2% and 26.8% year on year (YoY), achieved VND 12,492 billion and VND 2,139 billion, equal to 104% and 111% of the year to date (YTD) target, respectively.
Profit after tax (PAT) and PAT attributable to parent company’s shareholders was VND 1,780 billion and VND 1,418 billion, up 26.1% and 28.5% compared with 1H2018, respectively. EPS was VND 2,097, up 28.0% YoY. Moreover, the PBT margin was improved to 17.1% (16.5% in 1H2018).

As a key growth diver of FPT, Technology sector recorded revenue and PBT of VND 6,964 billion and VND 855 billion, equal to 104% and 109% of the YTD target, up 27.6% and 44.4% YoY, respectively. In which, the IT services from global market recorded revenue of VND 4,932 billion, up 37.8% YoY. PBT was VND 742 billion, up 39.5% YoY. Revenue growth of each oversea market was above 26% YoY, especially in the US market up 85.8% YoY.
With a strategic focus on digital transformation, this service line’s revenue was VND 1,654 billion, up 40.9% YoY, contributing 34% to the global IT services’ revenue (this proportion in 1H2018 was 33%).

Telecom sector had its revenue up 17.4%, to VND 4,922 billion, equal to 103% of the YTD target. PBT was VND 822 billion, equal to 107% of the YTD target, up 13.0% YoY. In which, Telecom services’ revenue and PBT reached VND 4,650 billion and VND 684 billion, up 17.7% and 15.5% YoY, respectively.
Financial performance by market: Overseas markets' PBT up 36.1% YoY
In 1H2019, overseas markets brought FPT with revenue of VND 5,208 billion, up 34.0% YoY and PBT of VND 802 billion, up 36.1% YoY. The overseas revenue and PBT contributed 42% and 38% to the Corporation's performance, respectively (In 1H2018, the proportions were 38% and 35%).
