This is the first time aninternational admission conference has been organized in Vietnam, attractingthe attendance of prestigious admissions agents from Japan, the UK, Thailand, the Philippines, Nigeria, Ghana, Uzbekistan, and China. During the two-dayconference, the international delegates got further understanding about theculture and educational environment of Vietnam, recognizing the potential ofVietnam education and committed to be the admission partners of FPT Universityin foreign countries.

After the conference, FPT Universityand the international admissions agents signed the cooperation agreement onadmitting international students to FPT University. This is considered thefirst step for opening the door for global admission agents to Vietnam. Otheruniversities in Vietnam can seek for cooperation with these agents to realizethe dream to “export education” to the world, accelerating the educationalinternationalization process of the country.

Explaining the reason for organizingthis conference, FPT University Director Le Truong Tung said: "Internationalizationis an important objective set by FPT University from its very beginning. Wehave drawn a clear path to leverage FPT University to the world stage includingimproving its image and opening oversea branches. This conference is one of thefirst steps to realize our objective".

A university’s internationalizationis assessed based on various criteria such as the number of lectures, foreignstudents and international standard curriculum. This is also a compulsorycriterion for a university to be evaluated and rated by QS Stars – one of thethree most prestigious education rating organization in the world. Recently,FPT University has been the first Vietnamese university rated three stars bythe QS Stars.

In the session on February 23, 2013,many case studies of education internationalization were shared byrepresentatives from the UK, Australia, Japan, and Thailand. Mr. Masaru Yamadafrom Japan shared the story in the 1980s, when there were a great number offoreign students from Europe and Australia coming to Japan, making a strongwave of education internationalization in the country and contributingremarkable part to the quality improvement of Japanese education in the world.

Mr. Scott Wade, President of Alphe –a world’s prestigious education conference also said: "Vietnam in generaland FPT University in particular is enjoying favourable condition tointernationalize its education. With the potential of Vietnamese market, I wantto introduce more British students to FPT University, taking part in theeducation internationalization process of Vietnam"

Generally speaking, internationalization is still a weak point of Vietnamese education, whichrequires effort from the entire education system and the cooperation andsupport from international admission agents for the real education integrationof Vietnam. This trend is expected to boost Vietnamese education in near future.
