Cu Thang Lower-secondary School has 350 pupils in the 6th-9th grades coming from 20 villages in Cu Thang Commune. People here are still poor and cannot invest money in their children’s learning.

TienPhongBank had found out about the conditions of poor pupils here, and after some information exchange with members of “Heart in Hand” Charity Fund, the Communist Youth Union branch of TienPhongBank had decided to grant scholarships for 10 pupils whose families were in difficult conditions or under preferential treatment policies with high achievements in studying. Each scholarship is worth 300,000 VNDs.

In addition, TienPhongBank also sponsored the creation of a reference bookcase for teachers and pupils of Cu Thang Lower-secondary School. As anticipated, there would be about 200 book titles, with 1-5 books for each title.

The bookcase would consist of reference books for teaching main subjects for teachers and pupils; stories and other scientific books for different ages at a lower-secondary school (the school had the right to choose the book titles) with the total of 300 books.

Besides presents to be given in this trip, other expenses were paid by members of the Communist Youth Union branches of TienPhongBank and the Banking Times.
