TienPhongBank will soon be one year old

This programme is for current and new customers. Also in this celebrity month, TienPhongBank provides free transactions of transferring money from internet banking from May 15, 2009 to June 14, 2009.

For TienPhongBank’s current individual and business clients, they only need to register for the use of other products of TienPhongBank, re-continue fixed term deposit accounts, An Thịnh (safe and prosperous), An Khang (safe and healthy) savings accounts, or register for the use of Internet Banking to be eligible to participate in the promotion programme.

In order to take part in this promotion programme, individual customers only have to carry out one of the following transactions:

- Open a payment deposit account;

- Register for Internet banking;

- Open/recontinue fixed term deposit accounts (the shortest term must be one month) with the minimum value of 10 million VNDs (100 million VNDs for enterprises) or 1000 USDs for USD accounts (10,000 USDs for enterprises).;

- Open/recontinue An Thịnh, An Khang savings accounts with the minimum value of 10 million VNDs;

- Disburse loans with minimum value of 10 million VNDs (100 million VNDs for enterprises).

General information

During one year of operation, TienPhongBank has achieved certain successes. Here are some noteworthy milestones of TienPhongBank.

Human resources

At present, TienPhongBank has a staff of nearly 280 people, among whom about 90% have a B.A. or B.Sc. degree, and 8% have an M.A., M.Sc. or Ph.D. degree. TienPhongBank has carried out over 90 internal and professional training courses.

Core officers of TienPhongBank are individuals with high professional levels and experience, having been in many important positions in big financial organizations in Vietnam and other foreign countries.

Management system

Being one of the few banks granted the ISO 9001-2000 certificate for quality management system, after a very short time, TienPhongBank has maintained the e-ISO management system with continuous improvements to assure every activity in the whole system to be smooth and close. In addition, TienPhongBank has applied the modern and orderly organization model with the criteria of simplicity and effectiveness.

Technology system

2008 was a break-through year of TienPhongBank in terms of technology. Only after 4 months of official operation, TienPhongBank had successfully deployed the eBank package with the Internet banking and ATM card services. With the Internet Banking service, customers can transfer money to 1,750 banks nationwide without having to go to banks with a 20%-lower fee in comparison with money transference at counters.

The cards provided by TienPhongBank are also debit cards. Customers can withdraw money at 3,500 ATMs of banks in the Smartlink card alliance, of which TienPhongBank is a member.

In this May, TienPhongBank introduced another preeminent service in the ebank package, which was Mobile Banking serrvice. With this service, customers can transfer money within TienPhongBank just through mobile phone messages, pay FPT’s ADSL fees, pay money for postpaid accounts of MobiFone, Viettel, add money to pre-paid accounts of MobiFone, Vinaphone and Viettel. In addition, Mobile banking also provides some other utilities, such as checking balance and interest rates…

The eBank system of TienPhongBank uses the most modern security technology methods in the world. The Internet Banking system of TienPhongBank uses SSL encoded transactions provided by Verisign – the world-leading supplier in transmission line encoding services. Every information about customers’ transactions will be encoded so that it will not be illegally infiltrated on the Internet transmission line.

Besides, TienPhongBank also uses the One Time Password mechanism of RSA for money transference transactions. This mechanism helps ensure safety for customers’ accounts even in case customers accidentally reveal their Internet Banking access passwords.

TienPhongBank’s Internet Banking application were also designed to consist of many layers to prevent hackers from illegally accessing customers’ data base. In addition, data changing steps are carried out in accordance with the “Request -Response” mechanism, ensuring no direct data update from external sources.

Products and services

Currently, TienPhongBank has almost all products and services of a commercial bank for individuals and enterprises. Consumer expenditure loan services with attractive interest rates and simple and effective procedures are now TienPhongBank’s strong point. Moreover, in 2009, TienPhongBank also sponsored some big enterprises to develop their business and production activities, which has resulted in customers’ great trust.

TienPhongBank also seriously implemented the government’s policy in deploying the 4%-interest rate-support package and signed the agreement of financing and guaranteeing loans with Vietnam Development Bank (VDB).

TienPhongBank continues to commit not to charge ATM fees till 2010.

Business results

Until May 05, 2009, profit before tax was 117.3 billion VNDs. Total property was 3,100 billion VNDs; mobilized capital was 1,347 billion VNDs. The number of newly-issued ATM cards in the first quarter was nearly 3,000 cards; the number of Internet Banking registrations was approximately 2,500. In comparison with the last three months of 2008, the increase rate was 69% and 61% respectively.

Network development

Apart from the head office in Hanoi, TienPhongBank also has its Ho Chi Minh City Branch and it is going to open Can Tho Branch on June 05, 2009. Furthermore, Da Nang Branch and Hai Phong Branch will be opened soon.

Presently, TienPhongBank has had 3 branches and 8 transaction offices nationwide.

Social responsibilities

Besides business development, TienPhongBank has also been strongly developing humanistic activities for community development. TienPhongBank is now running Heart in Hands Fund (HiH), a charity founded by the staff of TienPhongBank.

In 2008, HiH Fund had successfully organized the humanistic blood donation event of TienPhongBank’s all staff. Additionally, HiH also arranged many humanistic trips to centres for orphans, malnourished children and old people …
