Truong Gia Binh elected as the first vice chairman of ASOCIO

At the ASOCIO ICT Summit 2014, the General Assembly of ASOCIO elected a new leadership for the next tenure from 2015 to 2016.

Chairman of the Association of Thai ICT Industry (ATCI) Saraggananda Bunrak was voted the new chairman of the ASOCIO.

Truong Gia Binh, Chairman of the Vietnam Software and IT Services Association (VINASA) cum Chairman of FPT Corporation was elected as the first vice chairman While Vice Chairman of the Japan Information Techonology Service Industry Association (JISA), Takarashi Igarashi was elected as Vice Chairman in charge of finance.

Chairman, first vice chairman and vice chairman for finance are the top leadership positions of ASOCIO.

VINASA Chairman cum FPT Chairman Truong Gia Binh exchanged views with ASOCIO members on the sidelines of the event.

The General Assembly of ASOCIO also elected seven other vice chairmen for the 2015-2016 term who are ICT leaders from Japan, the Republic of Korea, Hong Kong (China), Nepal, Malaysia, Taiwan (China) and Sri Lanka.

The General Assembly also approved the admission of Bhutan as the 23rd member of ASOCIO. ASOCIO, a grouping of ICT industry associations representing the Asian-Oceania, was founded in 1984 with 23 members and 5 associations as observers including the US, France, Britain, Spain and Canada.

Vietnam - ASOCIO ICT Summit 2014 is the largest international ICT event in Asia and Oceania, being held annually in turn by the Asian-Oceanian Computing Industry Organization (ASOCIO) at economies. fter 11 years, Vietnam won the right to host this important event for the second time. This year, the Forum took place in 4 days from 28 to 31/10 in Hanoi and Da Nang with the theme of IT Apps to Agriculture Restructuring, attracting over 700 delegates.
